Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I face a bit of a dilemma. I have a fairly small first team (but an insane amount of good youth who I have been giving appearances here and there). League, cup, and Champions League is starting to take its toll. I did qualify for the knockout stages with a game in hand, which is all the board are wanting. I find myself in second place in league, but it's going to be a tough fight to stay in Champions League qualification. Board wants me to make the cup final, and I passed a very tough test in the second round, beating rival Dortmund on the road.
Which brings the question, do I field a weakened team for the Champions League knockout stages so I can try my best to keep the squad fresh for the league and domestic cup?
Winter break can't come quick enough.Comment

I haven't posted many updates to my Roma save recently as I've been swamped at work, but things have lightened up and I'm getting back into things. I just signed a world class 20 year old wonderkid. This guy only cost me $20 mil USD:Attached FilesComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Coming off my WC win and UEFA Nations League win with England, the team wrapped up UEFA Euro qualifying in style. With 1 assist and 4 goals, Ross Barkley had a perfect 10 match rating. Patrick Roberts had a 9.7, amassing 5 assists and 1 goal. Lithuania's worst performance was Edvinas Juozalitas who had a hilariously low 2.3 match rating.Attached FilesComment

So I was pretty thrilled to get into the group stage of the Europa League, but I had never expected this
We beat Rangers in the 2nd qualifying round, then FK Austria Wien in the 3rd qualifying round, then took out Marseille in the playoff.Support Local Sports

Madrid said no to me. They better hope another la liga club doesnt come a calling.
Anyways, won the League and Champions League double again.
My 63K new stadium is about to open. No new players in. Sold a couple of players for a total of £52m. Finally have a youth system producing where I dont need any established players to buy.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Glad I left a lot of payroll budget unused. Cause when young players play well, they want to be PAID.
Julian Draxler: 5 years/$53.25 million
Max Meyer: 5 years/$39 million
And after winning the European Golden Boy and seeing his attacking teammates get a pay raise, Andrija Zivkovic wanted to be paid more.....5 years/$39 million.
Edit: They have Jose modeled perfectly in this game.
Edit: Then apparently he went on to say we constantly get gifted decisions like that as I got a question about it asking if his claim was justified. My response: "Of course it's not justified, it's just Jose talking nonsense as usual."Attached FilesLast edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-23-2015, 01:11 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, after my AFC Wimbeldon disaster, where I pretty much lost every game I played and got fired right away, I picked Oxford United to start a new game with.
This one has been going much better. Right after the calendar turned to 2014, I reached the top of the table.
And I'm currently on a 9 game unbeaten streak. (8-1-0)

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Had a bit of a dip in form in the second half. Started losing some ground to Bayern, and Leverkusen is streaking up the table, causing my hold on second to become a bit precarious.
Then I snapped Bayern's 26 match unbeaten streak dating back to last season. Refs tried to let them back into the match with a bogus penalty, but we hung on thanks to some gutsy defending. This with one of my starting center backs out because he caught a cold the day before the match.Attached FilesLast edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-25-2015, 09:33 AM.Comment
