I think you're being a little naive if you believe he's staying pass this year.

This has a CR7 to Madrid written all over it, he'll stay this year, but a deal is probably already in place to leave at the end of the season.

As long as Barca pays a fair price for him I'm fine with it. I know Cesc wants to go back home. It just bugs me that Barca thinks we should give them a discount all the while acting like a bunch of punks.

There is absolutely no deal in place for the end of the season, unless Barca can all of a sudden magically afford Cesc. If your club has to take out a bank loan to pay the player wages, that club is in trouble financially.

The only thing I know for certain is that he's not leaving this summer, as Arsenal have refused to negotiate.

If Barca can afford the steep price tag next summer, there's a good chance he'll be gone.

If not, Cesc still has five years left on his contract, so Arsenal do not have to sell unless Cesc himself forces them to.

And whatever happens, Barca will not be given a discount (however much they might need one given their financial situation) because of Cesc's "DNA."

You will have to hear about it the rest of this summer as well because Barcelona won't take no for an answer. It was Carles Puyols turn to run his mouth today along with Pep Guardiola. Guardiola apparently tried to take matters into his own hands as far as dealing with the club which led to this.

3 years of Henry to Barca
2 years of Hleb
Anelka did nt stay long enough to get any stories
Ovemars and Lundburg, Denis and Wrighty

Even Tony "Mr Arsenal" Adams was linked with ManUre and Ac Milan for 4-5 years in a row

this is what the english press do every year
small clubs are always written about in one context i.e

"Wigans best player is off to a better club" every summer

Now Arsenal are a bigger club than Wigan and we dont sell our best players to teams in our own league

which gives the press about 6 clubs to pick when writing this kind of crap

and lets be fair who here really things the young lad from Barcelona the kid that played in Barcelona 's youth team for 4 years before signing for Arsenal does nt dream of playing for Barca someday?

Cesc has dealt with the situation with a fair amount of class, he has nt rubbed our noses in it or slagged Arsenal off in the press and by all reports he'll play for us next year at least

And when he finally leaves I will wish him all the best and we can start rebuilding again.

No one here is begrudging Cesc.

Were pissed at the consistent tapping up of Cesc. Which has never been as bad with any other previous transfer we've had with Barcelona. Overmars and Henry included.

I don't know if he told you guys this, but Cesc told me personally his heart and mind are in Barcelona and he desperately wants out at Arsenal. And even though he's never admitted it publicly, I play for Barcelona, and who wouldn't want to play for God's gift to football, the greatest club in the history of professional soccer, a club that needed a bank loan to pay for their player salaries, but can still afford to pay Cesc his discounted market value of 30 million because he has Barca DNA! And if you have Barca DNA, clubs are required to reduce the transfer price...or else!

I don't agree.

If we keep giving in over and over again this same thing is going to happen everytime we have a player of value. I know were a selling team and all but frankly I'm tired of being the Barcelona's of the Worlds WalMart. Selling our best players has really worked these last few years.

40 million isn't near high enough, IMO. That would be the DNA Discount that Barca wants. I'd put the price at 60 mil, minimum.

I'm almost to the point where I want nothing more this season than to draw Barca in the CL again and absolutely tonk them...I'd take that over any trophy outside of the PL, that's how bad my hate is for them right now.

What comes around goes around odds are they will struggle this year in Spain as Real Madrid look set to establish a bit of a dynasty under Jose

which given the never ending patience of Spanish boardrooms should see Pep out of a job the break up of the squad as there forced to sell off there talent to stay afloat financially before the banks foreclose and sell the Camp Nou and convert it into a shopping mall
