Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Szczesney could be fit to face Liverpool and Djourou is back in training.
Wojciech Szczesny, the Arsenal goalkeeper, intends to make his return from a finger injury against Liverpool on Sunday
Having both of them back would be huge in terms of a small title chances.
There is something I keep going back to that if it bites us in the *** will be brutal.
Imagine that we win our game in hand and we beat United, so we're behind them by one point. Now, the season finishes and we remain one point behind. Go back through the year and see where we lost two points that we 100% should've had. The 4-0 lead being lost at St. James Park. Those could be two huge points.
A lot needs to happen to get to that point, but I can not get that game out of my head.Comment

I am unsure about Kroenke but depending on what he does it could be a good thing. A bit of pressure from the top to get Wenger to open the checkbook a bit more would do wonders for the club.
As for the Newcastle game, I agree, it still disgusts me and I felt then it was going to be the dagger in our season, similar to the Wigan loss last season. Putting up a good fight though and keeping the pressure on Man U could really help us though because they look to be advancing in Europe and those extra matches could work to our favor.Comment

Looks like the Arsenal Supporters Trust will not be selling their shares as they do not want to see a single ownership, which is great news.

Yeah, but it may as well be with Kroenke having virtually all the control here. I remain optimistic, but apologies for sounding like a broken record - Until we get a commanding presence in defense and a solid goalkeeper, we aren't winning anything. I too am sick of the moral victories. Wenger has the cash to splash so go out and get Cahill and go out and get one of Lloris, Adler, Reina etc etc. Just do it for your players and the fans.Comment

Apparently £40m was the number used yesterday for how much Arsene would have available this Summer, with our without a takeover. However, we've heard that number for several years in a row now.
I believe we will see a slight shake-up this Summer, though.Comment

Well those things need to be done no matter who owns the club, but I don't like the idea of a singular owner.

Straight off the Arsenal Facebook page...
"Injury update: Szczesny, Song and Djourou are all passed fit for tomorrow's game, and Thomas 'The Verminator' Vermaelen now has a 'good chance' of playing again this season!"
Freaking sweet. We need all the help we can get.Comment

Arsenal: Szczesny, Eboue, Koscielny, Djourou, Clichy, Diaby, Wilshere, Walcott, Fabregas, Nasri, Van Persie
Subs: Lehmann, Song, Squillaci, Arshavin, Gibbs, Chamakh, Bendtner
Liverpool: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Kuyt, Spearing, Lucas, Meireles, Suarez, Carroll
Subs: Gulacsi, Cole, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Ngog, Shelvey, Robinson
Szczesny starting is huge, as I think we need his aggression in there to go after balls in the air that are going towards Carroll.
I also think Theo needs to have a big game. He needs to not only make some runs, but finish some.
So pumped for this match. Another game in which our season is absolutely on the line.Comment

The kings of close. The masters of missed chances. The best at breathtakingly near. We are, The Arsenal.
Good half, boys, now let's put a few in goal. Possession has to nearly be 70/30 so far. I'd say it's only a matter of time before we put one away, but we like to pair our clean sheets without scoring ourselves.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
So I was receiving my normal text updates of the game as I was driving back to school and based on the few cards issued I felt we had been forcing the issue a bit all game. To my absolute delight I get one saying RvP scored on a penalty in the 91' and I think there is no way we can throw these 3 points away, there isn't enough time for US to even blow it. Then I get another update 4 minutes later (expecting a final whistle update) only to see Kuyt finished a penalty that I assumed Eboue conceded due to his booking update coming with it. I couldn't even say I didn't believe it because frankly, it was very believable for us.
I watched the highlights then when I got home and 8 minutes of stoppage time? What could have happened in a scoreless half to cause 8 whole minutes? The penalty we earned looked to be just that, a penalty. Cesc clearly touches the ball away as Spearing came through with his leg through Cesc's. Then, a free kick a minute beyond when the whistle should have gone is blocked by the wall and should be the final kick, it bounces out toward the corner and Lucas blatantly runs directly into Eboue's path, who only has eyes for the ball, and Lucas stops running right after he gets in front of Eboue and dives. Sh*t player, sh*t call and our title hopes are officially gone. Man U won't lose to us AND someone else while conceding their goal differential or drawing even another game. I was disappointed that we didn't win after a stoppage time penalty, but I'm now furious after seeing the manner in which they drew theirs.Comment
