Wow. It's to the point where all I can do is laugh at our inability to defend set pieces. Just ridiculous. Honestly, I laughed at the goal. It's all I can do now.
Alright boys, back to the other end of the pitch to pass it around their defense with nobody from Arsenal in the box. On you go.Comment

As for summer plans, I would like to see us cash in on Squillaci, Clichy, Almunia, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Vela, Bendtner and Arshavin (if it comes down to it being our only option, Cesc as well.) On the buying side, we need an experienced center back to partner with TV5, possibly an experienced replacement for Clichy, becuase after today I'm not sure Gibbs is ready yet. Another solid holding mid to compliment Song in games where we are trying to hold a lead and one more attacker to come in and replace the hopeful departures of Vela, Bendtner and Arshavin as I had said above. It would be nice to see if Wenger could find a way to pair RvP and Chamakh up top next season. When Marouane came on today in the second half he was excellent and we NEED a presence in the box to make teams defend us a bit wider and prevent crosses. Ever since RvP was fit again and replaced Chamakh, teams were much more comfortable sitting their back 4 inside the box knowing we wouldn't serve the ball over and over again from the wings. Our attack is as stubborn as Arsene sometimes.
Thankfully (and hopefully) this loss cemented in Wenger's mind that we NEED a better and more experienced defence.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
It should have been cemented months ago that we need help on the defensive side. Most of all, this team needs winners, and I'm not talking about Lehman, Campbell, or Silvestre. I'm talking about winners that are actually still good footballers.
This teams mental frailness is the most shocking thing about this team, imo. If this team had half the character and competitive spirit that United had we would have more than likely won the league this year."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Bendtner is "not satisfied". Shocking.
To be fair, playing him on the wing is absurd. If he were in the center with crosses coming in, he'd at least have a few more goals this season. He's not as good as he thinks he is, but he's better than some think he is, especially in the air.
I'm sure he's gone this Summer and I'm sure he'll do well if he goes somewhere and is put in a target man role.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
If we played two strikers:
1. We'd score more.
2. There'd be more opportunities for the deep striking talent on the team of
a. RVP
b. Chamakh
c. Bendtner
d. Vela
3. We could focus more on bringing in wing talent that could actually cross the ball and let Sagna/Clichy try to play some defense rather than being constantly out of position.Arsenal FC

Yeah, Bendtner's finishing can be shockingly bad (like in the second leg against Barca when he should have had an easy goal). I'd like to see us cash in on him while we still can before his stock plummets further.Comment
