I applaud you for still watching this mess. Outside of the Spurs game, I haven't watched this team since the Blackburn match. This team is a mess and something must be done or Arsene must be fired. Its really that simple.

Arsene has next year and that is it IMO. His contract is done after the 2011/12 season is over and if we lift a trophy he goes out on top, if we don't then it is just the last straw and everyone will finally be in complete agreement that Wenger must leave. Our biggest problem is obviously our defending and I think it can be helped in a huge way if we were to just switch to a 4-4-2 again. we could have our back 4 in front of Sczezny, with Song just in front of the 2 CB. RvP could sit high with Theo helping him and also sitting a bit deeper and closer to our midfielders. Jack, Fab and Nasri could fill out those last 3 spots and work well at keeping the ball as a tandem in the midfield without having a cemented right, left and center position for them. This would keep our back 4 together more as Clichy and Sagna wouldn't move up the wings as much and we would still be able to use 5 or 6 people in the attack.Comment

Arsenal had won things before Arsene and they will win things after Arsene. He isn't going to be managing the club much longer anyways. If Arsene gets canned he will have no one to blame but himself."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Well, Mourinho's contract with Real ends when Arsene's does for us. He's stated he WANTS to come back to England before he is done coaching so it is a possibility. Wishful thinking but it's out there, and a lot of managers have won in the Premier League against us with far less talent, so bringing a more basic approach to our team may not be the worst thing to happen. He is gone after next year though, regardless of how it turns out. Arsene brought a great era to Arsenal but that era has ended.Comment

I think Arsene will be here for three more years to finish his contract. He will not leave early as it's not something he would do and the club would not get rid of him.
As for Mourinho, no thank you. He's brilliant, but I don't want any part of those tactics.
Arsene frustrates me sometimes, but he's still the best man for the job as of now and I'm pretty certain he's with us for the next three years.Comment

However, I still think there should be a change in formation. You don't have to change the manager to change the teams tactical approach...we have players that can get their head on the ball. Real wing play and more direct attacking will help us punish the weaker teams.
When the big teams let us "play", we can win with finesse. But the little guys will just pack it in and pound on the set piece/counter attack. We should pound them back.Arsenal FC

In terms of selling players, this isn't too surprising and I have no issue with it. When he plays, he's brilliant. When he doesn't, it's like being down a man.

No need to change the formation. I remember two years ago we all wanted a change from the 4-4-2.
The lack of defense isn't a formation issue, its an effort issue."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."
