So I was looking at a 'Who should replace Cesc" poll, and noticed that Wesley Sneijder was one of the choices. Is there any truth to that at all, or was that just thrown out there? I'd personally love that scenario.

So much respect for him though and it is absolutely refreshing to see what he said about Wenger, the club and it's future for what they've done for him. In all this he's never been the bad guy.

As for Nasri (as someone commented on about his twitter) I responded to him through twitter saying "If you were still a "player" don't you think we would see you on the pitch? You meant you're still on Arsenal's payroll..." Fukc him. Take the 20M from Citeh and be on with it. Spend it on Cahill (who has more goals this season than our club) and a player like Mata and our team will be fine. Also, Wenger joked that maybe the way to stop Barton's antics against us would be to sign him, I would be all for that. We need his attitude (not necessarily his lack of judgement though) in our squad. Sneijder would be an absolutely unbelievable piece of magic if Wenger pulled that signing out of his arse.

That's who they should go after with all this cash and wage money available.

As much as I would like to see Mata in an Arsenal kit, that deal is mostly not happening because Arsenal jerked around and didn't sign him before his clause expired. Arsenal could have had him at 18 mil now his clause has him going for at least 30 mil.

I doubt it would actually happen, but it's exactly who we need. Someone to pull all the strings.

Not a chance. Players of his ilk aren't coming to Arsenal at this time for a variety of reason, namely non-exorbitant wages (by footballing standards) and a tenuous hold on a Champions League place.

I'm of the opinion the replacement for the central playmaker is in the squad... Robin van Persie. Reshape the team, Arsene. Two problems with that, one being RVP's health, and the other being the lack of a poacher to lead the line. Maybe, just maybe, Higuain wants out of Madrid for regular football since he seems to be down Jose's pecking order. But alas, it seems an unlikely scenario.

Arsenal wont be able to attract top level talent unless they increase their wage allowance. It's capped at below 100k/week it seems.

Rooney is over 200k/week now and with spiraling wages, it wouldnt be possible to get a current top level player for anything below 100k/week.

Arsenal will have to sign up and coming players unless they change their wage structure.

All we currently do is sign up and coming players. As for the wage structure, my feelings vary. Would it be great to drop money on top players? Yes. Is it nice to be the club in the best financial shape in the league? Yes.

I agree, except that being the club in the best financial shape in the league should put us in a position where we can then spend and bring in top-tier players. I'd rather have trophies and not perennially settle for a CL spot than be in the best financial shape in the league.

Everyone's favorite player, Emanuel Eboue, is no longer on Arsenal. I know you're all crying inside like I am. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11670_7105712,00.html

RVP has officially been named the new captain, with TV5 next in line.

Nothing too surprising there as other than Rosicky, they're both the obvious choices.

I hear you, man. I do like the fact that Arsenal are fiscally well-managed, as it gives a sense of stability and long-term health. But that is only important if it can somehow be leveraged to help the success of the club on the pitch. And it certainly can't be used as a consolation prize if the results aren't there.

For being touted as the team that uses statistics the most, you would have thought by now that Arsenal would have realized that the studies show that the biggest deciding factor in winning titles and trophies is amount spent on wages. They better change with the times if they hope to improve.

Our statistics are never applied to money, just actual play.

As for changing with the times, one of the issues is I think Wenger believes that running the club the way we are and finishing 4th or better each year is impressive. So, it's as if he feels in a way his system is working because it's the opposite of what everyone else does, yet we still do well.

Only issue is well isn't good enough.
