Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
The signing of Chu Young Park is official "pending registration process" and posted on Arsenal.com. He will wear the number nine shirt and his kit name will be J. Y. Park, as he prefers to go by "Ju".
Still awaiting confirmation on either Santos or Mertesacker, along with a host of other rumors flying about -- another bid for Cahill, renewed interest in Samba, Benayoun, Alex, Malouda, Baines, Hazard because Lille are going to take Joe Cole on loan... the press are going to town.
EDIT: Traore to QPR on a permanent deal also confirmed on the team site.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Mertesacker's composure on the ball is matched by his precision in the tackle – he is considered one of the cleanest tacklers in Germany and rarely receives bookings: such an influence would be welcome on a team that has had a player sent off in every Premier League match of the season so far.
He's the real deal and only 26. Really, really excited about getting him. Also, only £8.8 million. Hey Bolton, take the £17 million you wanted for Cahill and put it up your...you know.Last edited by Krebstar; 08-30-2011, 12:20 PM.Comment

Apparently Park Chu-Young is set to go home to Korea in 2013 for his military service. What a great long term solution for our club!Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
You guys are on fire todayI laughed so hard reading those posts on Chamakh. On a more serious note, I'm very very happy about Mertesacker because he's IMHO the best defender we could have signed and at 8.8 million, a good good price. I like the Park signing because after Sunday, we do need someone who can take over for Arshavin, who is woeful. I at least am sure Park will put in a much much better effort in games than that POS.
Looking forward to seeing who else we get, but finally, we are seeing results. I just hope that upper management and Wenger now realize that we cannot be complacent like we've been the last couple of seasons. Making half-assed attempts hurt us and I hope now we will move forward and climb back into the race.Comment

Maybe Goal.com wasn't too off...
Fulham has picked up Bryan Ruiz from FC Twente. Could that mean Dempsey is on the way out?

Finally got power back after the Irene Chaos, and I return to find that the s*** has hit the fan in terms of signings coming in.
Enough has been said already in this thread about Mertesacker, but regarding Dempsey, it would be a great signing if he could be had cheaply. He can play up top or on the wing which means he would be a better option than both Chamakh and Arshavin.Comment

I would be more than happy with RVP and Dempsey up front... or anywhere for that matter.Comment
