Who now are we after as a back-up striker? I figured after the season Remy had on loan, at a fairly average team, that AW would really want him. He's young, he's French, and he wanted less the 100k a week.

I'm just so thankful that we have two signed, sealed, and delivered already. As mentioned earlier, excitedly looking forward to seeing this team on match day 1.
Liverpool may move for Remy, but those wage demands are just plain stupid. If he doesn't go to Merseyside, then we could do a loan deal with QPR to get him off their books and get what we need. Remy is desprate for Champions League football, so I wouldn't get to concerned about it now. We have time since we are doing our business so early in the window. GK and TV5 and CB stuff will be handled first, giving us the rest of the summer to focus on more luxury items such as a back up striker and less pressing needs (tough Defensive Mid)

schneiderlin rumors heating up since Khedira wants 200,000 per week pre-tax to move. Nice player, just don't want us to deal with Southampton playing hard ball.

That story is from June 29.

Insiders believe we are still in for 3-4 more signings. Time will tell.

          DM, GK, CB, and ST.

          At least the first three.

And there are now more reports that we've agreed on a fee for David Ospina. Great news.

We probably need at least two CB's imo, unless Vermalean stays. Even then, the way this team is injury proned. I still think we go for Aurrier since he can still play as a backup CB and who knows maybe even DM.

Yeah, nothing official yet on the Ospina front, but Sky Sports says it's close.

Arsenal have agreed a £3.2million fee with Nice for goalkeeper David Ospina. The 25-year-old starred for Colombia during the World Cup and will provide competition for Wojciech Szczesny. Ospina has turned down an offer from Valencia.

That should be done by the end of the week. I'm sure we will bring somebody else on loan to be third choice GK. I agree we need 2 CBs, not one if TV5 is out. We were very, very lucky with injuries in the CB pairing last term.

Did anyone watch the pre season match Saturday?? Nice to see Ramsey, Super Tom and Diaby out there even if it was against Conference South opposition. Not much to glean, but Sanogo just can't finish. It's to the point where I believe it's a mental block. He does a lot of nice things During the build up, but just can't hit the target. To be perfectly honest, I was much more impressed with Chuba Akpom at forward than him.

I only saw the highlights, but I agree that at this point Sanogo just can't finish at all, despite the opposition.

Maybe he goes on loan if we bring in another striker? If we add another, we'd have options up front and on both wings. Certainly enough for Sanogo to get some playing time somewhere else.

35 mil offer for Cavalho? Id rather see that offer to Vidal or Pogba. Some how I find that hard to believe.

good pick up with Ospina tho

I hope we add another striker, but Wenger said we didn't need one, which I think is a mistake. I know we have Sanchez, Sanogo, Podolski, and Walcott in addition to Giroud, but I still would like a pure, clinical finisher. Giroud was clearly overworked last season, and I would prefer Sanchez and Walcott playing on the wings. Podolski plays on the left instead of up top, and Sanogo has potential but isn't ready yet. So, another striker would be huge.

I was reading the stats on Alexis. Although his shooting numbers are lower, he has a higher scoring % then both Messi and CR7. I can't find the article though. I have a feeling he will be our clinical finisher, he can push inside with Giroud when he is on the wing.

David Ornstein has said we're no longer looking at Khedira, so I'll consider that completely over now.

But he said we're still looking at a DM. Just throw the same money at Leverkusen for Bender, Arsene.

I believe that with the addition of Sanchez we can now take a punt on Balotelli if we get him for around 15 - 20 million. If he flops, he flops, but if Wenger can mould him we could have a world class striker for pennies. However, this should be AFTER we sign a DM, CB and GK.

There are rumors, though nothing reliable yet, that we are after William Carvalho. I would love that signing.

At the bottom of the Ospina article, it's brought up that the BFG, Podolski and Ozil will be off now until Aug 11. None will play in the Community Shield and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't play against Palace opening day.

Also if TV5 is sold, I'd be shocked if it happens till around deadline day so we can have cover at CB. I have no idea who we are in for at CB and for me, it's even a bigger concern than our weakness at DM.
