I'd be okay with Chambers playing out there if we had another actual CB in the squad. If Chambers was meant to be the real third CB only, we shouldn't have loaned Jenkinson.

We allow ourselves to have depth issues. Sometimes I think we're not much more injury prone than other teams. It's just more noticeable as we never have a contingency.

I think Chambers will do a great job at RB, and if we can stay injury free in the defense until Debuchy comes back, we'll be fine. But that's becoming the Arsenal mantra, isn't it? "If we can stay injury free we'll be fine." I hope Bellarin is ready for first team football, because we might need him soon.

Apparently he has tonsilitis and is doubtful for the CL game. Sky says you only have 3 fit defenders and may have to bring Hector Bellerin into the fray.

The problem is that "injury free" for us means no more than two injuries to starters. Over the course of a season, that's just not realistic. Over the last few years, other teams have had to deal with just as many injuries that we have. It's just more noticeable that it has an effect on us, because we're not prepared for it.

It looks like we're hit harder by injuries, just because we have no idea how to deal with injuries and have actual depth. If we signed another CB, and a CDM who could play at CB, we'd be fine on depth as of right now.

Instead, we're about two players short on defense. It's just insane that it's happened again.

It's OK to say that Ozil is playing poorly, it's clear as day he is. I also don't get why everyone attributes it to his position. Wenger allows him to drift and move freely, just look at his positional heat maps vs Citeh & Leicester. Not only that, but he plays on the left for Germany and he does OK. I think he's just tired and out of form. Nothing wrong with that IMO. Oscar was pretty poor last year because of all the footy he played and he struggled at scoring and creating chances.

it is still early too. These close games build character. The past few years, Arsenal has gone on some pretty sick winning streaks, so I am confident they will find their way. Ozil will find his form and the team will start winning, and then next thing you know Walcott, Giroud, and Debuchy will be back in time to cover the next string of injuries.

Speaking of winning streaks, I guess we set the record for the most away wins in a row last year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was 12.

Random positive Arsenal fact of the day.

Well we were taken to school today by a team without its best players. No Kagawa, Reus, Sahin, Hummels or Gundogan? No problem for Dortmund. Wenger's refusal to get depth kills again. He should really examine himself. No defenders, defensive midfielders and we get pasted. 2-0 was flattering to us. That's all ill say

Wenger should walk while we still respect him. He's digging his own grave with his refusal to buy a DM and another CB. He knew what had to be done, yet he still ****ed it up. I don't understand how Arteta is still starting games for us, does he mow Wenger's lawn for free or... ? We're literally two or maybe three signings away from being able to compete for the title, why is Wenger still refusing to sign those much needed enforcements? Besides his clumsy approach when it comes to transfers, there's also his tactical clumsiness.

A great example of a game that shows why we still need a real DM, as you fellas mentioned.

I'm disappointed, but it's not like we have a realistic chance to win the CL anyway this year. Time to bounce back against a very in form Villa side on Saturday. A match which, honestly, is more important right now than the CL, just due to it being in the league.

I didn't expect to win the CL but I expected maybe a draw against a weakened Dortmund. This 4-1-4-1 isn't working. Other than the 2-2 City game we've struggled.

Even against a weakened Dortmund, were you surprised? We knew they'd come at us like they did, and always will under Klopp, and I think 8 times out of 10 we won't be able to hand it, and completely lose our heads.

I wanted a better result, and I was so pumped for this game, but the outcome wasn't too surprising.

And I agree the 4-1-4-1 is not working at all. Maybe we'll see something different on Saturday.
