Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
There are lots of reports that Arteta just signed a new 1 year deal, but it's not on Arsenal.com yet, so not official.
I would guess this means Wenger views him as Coquelin's backup, and it might also mean a DM signing is not a priority for Wenger.Comment

I still think he still will go for a DM. This will open Arteta to rotate and play all the midfield positions if needed. Schniederlin would be best target IMO, but somehow I think the club won't be willing to bid what is necessary.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
We all know that rumors are just rumors, but there have been so many over the last three years that it seems likely that to this day it's a position Arsene realizes we need a top quality player in.
It then just makes me think that we don't want to pay the needed price. Hopefully that changes soon.
As for Schneiderlin, the issue with him seems to be his wage demand is far too high for us. At least that's what the reports are saying.Comment

I don't think this means no DM, it just means we see the value of having a player of his experience at the club. Plus, we're always going to have games where we need rotation.Comment

I am fine with this always been a fan of Arteta but I am sure this means Flamini is out the door.Comment

probably will fill up on project players which is ok but it won't help a lot next season. Wanyama wants to come to the team, he wouldn't be a bad consolation for not getting Schniederlin.Comment

Sanogo is headed to Ajax on loan for a year! That's great to hear—hopefully he can get some playing time and improve, even if it just means he moves on for a decent price next year.
We're still totally signing a striker, right guys? Right?!Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
He needs to develop some goal scoring form and get lots of games. If he can't score goals in the wide open Dutch League, then it just won't happen for him. He'll work with Dennis Bergkamp too, so that should help as well.Last edited by cdawg44; 07-15-2015, 10:33 AM."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Portuguese star and potential big-time summer transfer window target William Carvalho returned from the Under-21 European Championships with an injury to his tibia, potentially limiting his value for interested clubs on the open market.
Carvalho broke his Tibia and is out for 3 months. So that move is off the table now. Very frustrating since we didn't even put up a fight for Morgan Schneiderlin and weren't in for Geoffery Kongonbia.
Spanish media is often wide of the mark, but dammit if true. One step forward, 2 steps backwards. Don't understand why he would want out when he is the first choice LB and was lights out the last 4 months of the year. Hell he played most of the match today too.
Oh and Chuba Akpom scored a hat trick today, so at least we have that.Last edited by cdawg44; 07-15-2015, 10:31 AM."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush
