Carvalho broke his Tibia and is out for 3 months. So that move is off the table now. Very frustrating since we didn't even put up a fight for Morgan Schneiderlin and weren't in for Geoffery Kongonbia.
Well, if we believe the rumors, we were in for him, but we were never going to pay his wage demands. Something like he'd be paid more than Alexis or something like that.

Oh and Chuba Akpom scored a hat trick today, so at least we have that.
I'd hate to see Monreal go, but if he does, that would surely mean we'd be signing a replacement. Of course, would that mean a replacement to play behind Gibbs, or someone who can step in and compete with Gibbs or make Gibbs prove himself against the new signing.

Or it's bollocks and he's not going anywhere...I'll hope for that.

Looks like I'll go a third year without buying a new Arsenal kit. May have to spring for the throwback FA Cup jersey.

Man, I'm really regretting not pulling the trigger on the Purple/Black kit when I had the chance.

I prefer this year's home kit much more than the previous.

Although overall I miss Nike in terms of aesthetics, I'm glad the club were able to get more money from the Puma deal.

It's going to be a few years before an away kit can top this:

It's the collar and the socks, man.

My main memory of that kit is Ozil's first match at Sunderland. His ridiculous touch and then great pass to Giroud for the first goal. Mmmm.

No idea why people love those kindof collars. Absolutely hate them. They also feel awkward when playing in a shirt with those collars. The new away shirts are nice, I hate the home shirts though, I never understood why you would want buttons on a football shirt.

Because it means a lot of people can wear them to work without getting ****.

If it's got sleeves, a button, and a collar it counts as a polo.

And before you ask, I know multiple people who do this.

I like the new kits this year but that kit from Nike was the best. I think I will get a Ramsey home and Ozil away

Wenger says he plans to keep Akpom this season instead of loaning him out. I hope Wenger changes his mind, because I don't see how Akpom gets much time at all given that he's behind Giroud, Welbeck, Walcott, and even Alexis at the striker position.

So, he'll be loaned out in January it seems.

I know it was only a friendly but I just watched Arsenal's Asia Cup game and Alex Iwobi looked pretty impressive. Bright future for him I'm sure.

Bellerin has signed a new long term contract! Great news, and looking forward to him and Jenko battling it out for the RB spot in the future.

There have been rumors everywhere about Arsenal wanting Benzema. Wenger, of course, has denied the rumors, but that would be an amazing signing. If we were to sign a striker, though, I would want a DM first, as that is the one area of the squad where we could be in trouble if the starter gets hurt.

If we could only sign a great striker, or a DM, at this point I might choose striker.

Coq and Arteta could hopefully manage considering we have a much more stable defense than before, and we'd have a far stronger attack.

But perhaps a DM and a healthy Walcott would also be great.

In terms of when we'll sign someone, I always remind myself of how late the Ozil deal was done, and that none of us should be surprised if we make a big signing after the season starts, regardless of our early form. I'd prefer sooner, though.
