    Butland played outstanding.

Oh, and 3 clean sheets in a row.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is in the midst of another lengthy period on the sidelines after he suffered a fractured leg in pre-season training.

      ~sigh

We gotta adapt our training methods. Cause we are killing some of our lads. There is no excuse for this crap happening over and over again.

Think about this... Danny Welbeck has missed more time due to injury in one year at Arsenal then he missed in his entire time at United...

It's sadly to the point with Jack that he can no longer even be considered a midfield option when looking at the squad, as there's no evidence he can go long without an injury. He can no longer be considered as part of our midfield depth.

It's whenever he is healthy it's a bonus, and not someone we can expect to fight for a starting position.

I can't believe I am saying that I would have preferred to see Flamini out there than Arteta, that midfield selection was pretty poor.

Well, Giroud isn't going to win back his starting job on that performance. Was the second yellow justified? Not in my eyes, but you can't openly dissent like he dead on the first yellow and then expect to get the benefit of the doubt. Boy was that a disaster.

That's why I couldn't for the life of me understand why Arsene thought Arteta was an option in a 90 minute match as holding mid. Great leader in the locker room, but way past his sell by date.

Between that and the inability to finish chances, this is deeply frustrating and totally avoidable.

The Football Association has released the following statement: Arsenal’s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Gabriel has been upheld following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing. The player’s three-match suspension has, therefore, been withdrawn with immediate effect. Gabriel was dismissed for violent conduct during the game against Chelsea on Saturday [19 September 2015].

Paulista's 3 game ban over turned. Best news all week. That whole situation was disgusting and something I don't wanna associate with Chelsea football club. I hate their guts, but I've always respected the club and Costa is a disgrace and stain on that.

I agree, Arteta has been lacklustre for a few seasons now. I was surprised that Theo didn't play on the left instead of up top and run Ivanovic ragged.

Still terrible week, 3 reds cards in one week is pretty bad.

Well I don't think Arsene wanted to isolate Monreal and expose his weaknesses. Theo just isn't defensively responsible enough to play on the wings when we have squad players who will track back. Podolski ran into this exact same issue when he was at the Emirates but at an even more extreme. That's why he is being tried up top to see if he can be an out and out striker. I personally think it isn't gonna work long term because while his stat line will look impressive at the end of the season ( probably around 20 goals in all competitions) it'll be against much weaker squads or in garbage time when the game is already decided. Plus it's like he doesn't understand the offsides rules sometimes.

It's a shame Arteta is slipping so much physically, as mentally I think he still has a lot to give to the squad.

It was mentioned on Arsecast Extra this week that perhaps if Arteta or Per had been on the pitch, Gabriel's red card never would've happened, as they would've taken him as far away from Costa as they could and managed the situation.

Cech was doing what he could, but wasn't going to run to midfield as it continued on.

Flamini!! I can't believe that he's the one who just put us ahead 0-1.

As much crap as he takes, and as much as he shouldn't be out there most days, he's always working hard, and thank goodness he followed that shot in and was there for the rebound.

                            Long way to go, though.
