I'll be sad to see Gibbs go, but I think myself and many others have forgotten how old he is. Whenever I think of him, I tell myself oh he's young, he has time. He's what...22? Nope, he's already 26.

I don't see him turning into the LB we need to compete, so I'd rather see Monreal's replacement come in now.

Whatever your thoughts on the Vardy deal, I think we can all agree it's nice for once to see Arsene getting down to business and trying to get our transfer business done early. It was always frustrating to hear Arsene preach about the merits of finishing your transfer dealings as quickly as possible, then waiting til deadline day to sign someone.

Calum Chambers is apparently close to moving to Watford on loan. I think this would be great for him. Hopefully he'd get a full season of playing time at CB.

It could backfire too. I know he didn't get a lot of chances this past season, but right now can he play CB at premier league level? or is he less of a project player than I think he is?

regardless this is a good test for him and chance to get great experience

If he's given time I think he'll improve more and more in the position. When he did play last season he always played fairly well.

In other news, the club have officially released Flamini.

Now that it looks like Vardy's out, it's time for Wenger to move on to plan B. Hopefully he moves as quickly as he did with Xhaka and Vardy.

Leicester and England striker Jamie Vardy is expected to reject a bid from Arsenal and stay with the Premier League champions.

The fact that we went for Vardy shows that we're going to sign someone to play up front/on the wings.

I'm excited to see who it'll be.

Surprise! It's Walcott signing a new contract.

I really, really, really, really hope we sign a CB and a striker.

Both experienced, before the start of the season.

there has been talk of Vermaelen coming back to BPL. I know he left out of form, but its not like he is on bad terms. I wouldn't mind seeing him coming back.

                            Definitely better than nothing.

Per is getting slower, Gabriel has shown he's not ready to start, and we haven't seen nearly enough of Chambers at the back.

All jokes aside, the Holding transfer looks to be getting closer to being finalized.

Young English defender that can play in the middle or out wide, voted team's best player last season, and even got some U21 experience for England? Not bad at all.

Hoping for more as we move along, but this could be our future starting CB.

I'm thinking he is for when Kocielny is eventually done. Probably to pair with Chambers or Gabriel. I am hoping they still haven't stopped looking for a more proven CB.
