Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Absolutely.
Xhaha is a bit of a card gatherer himself, but I'll take it considering he finally brings a bit of nastiness to the side. Not dirty, just not afraid to tackle and pick up a card.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
The whole thing is a joke. The 'transfer policy'. The tactics. The lineup. The 'training regimne'. It's all just one big Charlie Foxtrot IMO. I'm relatively new to the sport (post WC 2014) but even I can tell how LOST it seems we are.
Someone (somewhere on OS) made a great point about how Everton lost Stones and had Williams inked in NO TIME. We lost Mertesacker AND THEN Gabriel, AND were KNOWINGLY going to be without Koscielny (for idiotic reasons--this is his job.......), yet still NOTHING in the way of a (proven) CB.
Not even to mention our style of play NEEDS a tall, strong, etc. striker, but somehow a good idea was to NOT sign one (see: again), and play Sanchez who towers in at 5'7. Good grief man, this really isn't rocket science.....
#MindBlownThe #MindBlown actually made me chuckle out loud!!
My worst ever prediction too, (I hadn't looked at the starting XI prior to game time) so down with my cup of coffee, couple pieces of cinnamon toast and I say to my wife, "What, why is Ramsey starting - he'll probably be out before half with a hamstring or something and we'll lose him to Christmas"?!
Arrrgghhh!
'Course, it's The Arsenal - if you're on the pitch you are at risk of injury.Comment

Yeah, it's nervous stuff. When The Coq and Flamini played together it was almost like an inside bet between them as to who could get sent off the fastest. However, Flamini's two goals against ****-on-ball last season put him in legendary status to me. Ha!Comment

Still amazed we are silent in getting this crap done bringing in a CB and ST.
I bet the players are furious and I fear an exodus of the elite...

I feel like we will get EITHER Lacazette or Mustafi, and then a cheap--sub par alternative for the other.
Come on Arsenal. Splash the cash. If we don't sign either, this is going to be a ROUGH season. In more ways than one.Arsenal | New York YankeesComment

Signing Lacazette for what would most likely be well over £50m would be the most Arsenal transfer I can think of.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
I seriously don't understand why in the world we wouldn't pay the £28 million for a full German International who is 1st choice after Boateng and Hummels and is only 24 years old. It's not like this guy is 29 or 30 and We'll get at least 7 solid to great years out of this kid. Zero excuse for Mustaphi not being done and dusted
I understand some of the hesitation on Lacazette however. He's a good player, but why hasn't he been able to take Giroud's spot off of the National Team. That thought is probably weighing heavy on the front office. Paying £40 million + for a guy who hasn't taken the national team spot of a player you already have in your side is a huge risk IMHO."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

I think sooner rather than later the Mustafi deal will be complete. As for a striker...yeah...Arsene has already unfortunately said "...we have Alexis and Walcott." so I'm not getting my hopes up on that.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Lacazette is a fantastic player, but he's most definitely not what you guys need.
Short, speedy, tricky dribbler, not particularly good in the air. He's basically the closest you could come to signing another attacking midfielder while still technically signing a striker. He's mildly injury prone (joining Arsenal is apparently some kind of multiplier bonus for injuries), and last but not least; a proven tendency to disappear in big games.
You guys need somebody like Icardi. Clinical, ruthless, big game player, excels at nearly every aspect of being a striker.
Hell, you guys wouldn't have even had to go outside the league to find a striker if you didn't want to. You guys went after Vardy, but Danny Ings was available last summer for cheap, and is basically a more talented version of Vardy, about 6 years younger, and with the added bonus of being monstrous in the air.
There have been plenty of strikers not named Benzema available each summer but it seems like you guys just go after him and then are surprised when he isn't lured away from Real freaking Madrid, where he's already a guaranteed starter and winning multiple CL titles.
Like I said, if you guys buy Lacazette for 45m when Icardi is available for 60 it would be the most Arsenal transfer in a while.Comment

I can't imagine Arsenal would splash £60m on him though...or seemingly anyone for that matterArsenal | New York YankeesComment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Yeah, I don't see us spending 45m on anyone this window.
Grumpy Arsene has decided that transfers are ridiculous and that he'd rather not live in the world in which he does, even if he can afford to do so.Comment
