From what I saw a not so trustworthy source said they were, and then a more trustworthy source said they're not.

But nobody would be surprised if it happened—Arsene would just complain about not wanting to spend the extra £2m or something.

We are in for Koulibaly but it seems unlikely we will get him due to Napoli's president being completely insane. So a journalist figured the next best thing for Chelsea would probably be to steal a transfer from Arsenal and there you go.

I don't think Liverpool are in for him either, they don't really need any CBs.

Just a heads up, Arsenal still haven't signed anyone.

        LOL...........

It's like Wenger refuses to pay wages based on the market. He still wants to pay what he would've paid 5 or 10 years ago for players and refuses to accept that the market has inflated. We are getting left in the dust...

You've now reached the stage where Arsene acknowledges supporter frustrations then moans about how the market is hard and expensive. Like clockwork.

For all his refusal to spend big on players he still manages to get top four so he must be doing something right.

Yep, he knows how to slide in behind the actual title race every season. Very consistent.

It really is amazingly interesting, frustrating, etc.

We spent £10m on Céch last year and finished 2nd. A distant second of course.

Unless some transfers are made, I think this will be the year that doesn't happen.

I've already given up on dreaming of a title—I'm just hoping we can slip into fourth. If so, I'll consider it a success.

                  Yay.

Iwobi and Ramsey out for three weeks. Great.

Here's my stab at Saturday's lineup:

                      ----------Cech----------

                      Bellerin---Chambers---Koscielny---Monreal

                      ---Xhaka------Elneny---

                      ---Walcott---Cazorla---Ox---

                      ---Alexis---

We've put Ox and Theo out before and had them switch, haven't we? If anything I could see Alexis, Ox, and Theo all out there but have them changing as they go. Walcott up front, Ox on the right, Alexis on the left, etc.

As for midfield, I just want to see Xhaka start, and if he does, no idea if he partners with Elneny or Coq.

I'd be ok with this...I guess.

I'd be OK with Chuba up top, Alexis on the left cutting in, and Walcott on the right! Why not, eh?

Why does he keep trying to play Alexis as a lone striker? It's not like he's some young dude to be molded into a better position.

                            Consider the source, mate.

I guess he feels it's the team's best option..........

Orrrrrrrrrrrrr........play Giroud for crying out loud.

This is a man who played Arshavin as a striker and Bendtner on the right wing. It's so hard to see managers like Conte and Klopp in the league now and know we have Arsene playing Alexis up front and Ramsey on the wing last year.

                              Sick of it.

I just don't understand how it's even the same person. Wenger was a winner when he arrived at Arsenal, saw some mediocre French winger and turned him into one of the best strikers in prem history, all while grabbing trophies hand over fist from a dominant Manchester United.

Now his teams are constantly bottling everything while he does weird experiments with already established players.

                                It's just kind of bizarre.
