Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***

    First half thoughts:

Gallas is absolutely tearing it up. Playing a wonderful game so far, he's everywhere on our side and is always there to break up ManU's play.

Eboue playin' poopy, made several bad mistakes that could've led to a goal for us.

Arshavin - WOW, what a freakin' laser. I had a feeling he would shoot it as soon as he got the ball, since he had an open chance but chose to cut it back (could've been a penalty as well).

I really miss Cesc in there, early in the half it seemed the passing was a bit off.

And wow, bravo to Foster on that save from the van Persie would-be finish. Arshavin is SO quick, I don't know how he got around the defender and crossed that ball, and Foster just made a brilliant kick save.

Absolute meltdown from the Gunners. Almunia clipping Rooney was a tough but correct call but the own goal, I'm nauseous.

That was an inexcusable OG from Diaby. Plain and simple.

Although Diaby had that OG, I thought he played well. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite players, although I know some of you dislike him. He made several great moves on the ball in their third, but his flaw was he didn't know WTF to do after he made a great move. Should've scored 12 yards away too.

Pleased with how we played, not with the end result though.

you guys one name... almunia... goalie weak. he was the cause of the goal v portsmouth (i was at emirates). both goals almunia's fault! he should have gone out after the floater and diaby OG.

gutted... we have a great team and sub par goalie...

Yeah that sure is a penalty....I'll be waiting for the media outrage...

                *crickets*

                Diaby and Almunia = CLOWNS.

Completely gutted, no way we should've lost that game.

If Foster doesn't somehow get a miracle foot on van Persie's shot early on in the 2nd half it's a different story.

Dean turns away a CLEAR penalty for us and gives them an absolutely dodgy one....makes me want to vomit. Not to mention Fletcher's two footed lunge on that PENALTY and his 549 fouls with no booking. Why didn't he just save us the trouble and wear red?

Your blaming that OG on Almunia.

I know. That was just an inexcusable play by Diaby.

And if Gallas hadn't been offside at the end, we would have equalized.

Tough loss, but it doesn't change my optimism about this team at all, especially with Cesc out.

Mine neither. It was pretty easy to see we outplayed them.

Garbage garbage garbage. Made 1,000 times worse on my walk home today when about 10 #*@#*@ heads in Chelsea jerseys asked me the score. GARBAGE!

Fair call sure but that does not explain the no call that Arshavin had in the box when he was clearly taken out. Sure minutes later he scored but you have to have consistency in your calls and the ref today clearly did not.

daiby never should have had to head that floater... it was a **** error, just think our biggest issue is, long term, almunia. one loss we can recover from... but we can't go far in the chamions league with a goalie that plays like that...

almunia needs to be more aggressive in the air... he should grabbed it or punched it. and why charge rooney when he is on his left and gallas (who has been great) was about to put pressure on.

almunia lost the day for us...

and he is luck berbatov bricked that beauty from nani.

Even though my roommate, who is a devout Arsenal fan disagrees, I'm sticking by my guns that the Rooney penalty was a joke, for the reason that he started to fly into the air before there was any contact at all. Wenger called it "Old Traffordish" after the game, and I couldn't agree more. Same reason Fletcher was not called for the penalty. I'm sick of ManU being "lucky" in games, or at least having it called luck by the media, when really they're handed things.

Diaby's own goal, ridiculous and sickening.

Wenger at the end of the game; priceless and honestly cheered me up after the loss.
