    Hahahahaha, now 2-9.

Get the **** out, Arsene. Announce you're leaving after the match and let us rebuild for the next few years.

Congrats on making me completely apathetic about all things Arsenal.

Is there some kind of mercy rule they can enforce here?

I hope not. The more embarrassed Arsene, the players, and the board are, the better.

Keep scoring, Bayern. **** it. Help the message get across.

I just can't believe how terrible your midfield is without Cazorla. A complete and total disaster.

Is Xhaka actually good? I feel like he actually isn't that good. Coquelin is a walking red-card-in-waiting. Ox can't play anywhere near the central midfield with his tendency to run around like a chicken with his head cut off. Ramsey is your Sturridge.

I don't know if your midfield answers are on this team right now.

There have apparently been reports that Xhaka has told people close to him that he "feels lost" and is unsure of what his role is and what he's supposed to be doing, as it's always changing.

If you look at how he played in previous years, he's great at sitting deep and playing dangerous long balls forward. We've asked him to push forward, be a DM, be a box to box, and on and on. I think he's greatly suffering from a lack of direction and tactics.

I really want to see how this squad plays with a different manager and different tactics. We wouldn't win the league this year with how Chelsea are playing, but I do think we'd at least still be considered a contender, or would've been for longer. We'd lose games, but I don't think we'd lose games the way we do now.

You guys are insane to think someone is going to come in and do what Winger couldn't. Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and United aren't playing CL football. Winger has made sure Arsenal is a top club year in, year out without spending insane amounts of money.

When he got picked up Ozil, he was questioned. When he said Sanchez was going to be a striker, he was questioned but now everyone is ready to cry because Sanchez and Ozil are probably gone. I can see Arsenal falling further than United because while Ferguson was recognized as making United great, Wenger is getting calls for replacement despite his immeasurable contribution to making Arsenal the powerhouse that they are.

I feel bad for Wenger because the fact that supporters are so used to his ability to succeed, they call for his head when he stumbles.

It's not stumbling, it's repeatedly tripping over the same stone in the ground each time you pass it.

The downturn happens around the same time each year. The same articles could be released each season with dates changed, and they would fit.

We're at the point where something has to change, because nothing has for so long. We had two weeks to prepare for Liverpool and we put forth the showing that we did. We usually fail to win our CL group, even though we should on paper, and last year was the perfect time for us to win the league, but we bottled it.

Arsene is too soft on the players, too forgiving, and has proven to not tactically prepare them for matches. We always play our game, and ignore the competition. Chambers went on loan to Boro and mentioned in an interview how differently they prepare for matches. He said he would get reports on players from the opposing team, how best to play them, etc. He said they wouldnt' get any of that at Arsenal, but would instead just work on their gameplan and ignore how the other team plays.

I don't think people are saying it lightly that they want Arsene to leave—we understand it's a big thing to say. But it's time that there was serious change at the club, and it has to involve the manager, as he's been present through all of the consistent issues.

Whoa, hold up, I don't think anyone here thinks that this is going to be easy, smooth, or anything of that ilk. In fact most of recognize that we will probably slip when Wenger leaves. I also don't think I know of anyone who is unappreciative of what Wenger has done in terms of managing club finances, managing expectations, and being consistent, however as a fanbase that's getting charged absurd amounts of money to support the club, we have higher expectations than top 4 every year. I'd take a year like Chelsea's last to get a year like Chelsea's present. I've been harsh on Wenger in the past, but I've always deferred to his judgement, that judgement has led me to the same place consistently.

Also, it shouldn't take catastrophic failure to enact change, because by the time that failure happens, it's probably too late. Wenger has done well to get us UCL football every year, but that no longer satisfies the cost of entry, nor an expectant fanbase.

tl;dr: We appreciate Wenger for everything that he's done, in fact most of us would like to give him a proper send-off, we also recognize when you keep hitting your head against a wall, it might be time to lift your head.

Also, how many times now have we shown we have no idea how to deal with being pressed? How many chances has the staff had to prepare this team to be pressed and how to deal with it? How many times have we effectively dealt with it?

This team is so rarely prepared, and that falls on the manager and the staff he has chosen.

Arsenal isn't even having a year like Chelsea did last year and look at the reaction. They took second to a gotdamn team of destiny last year.

The reason you see it as a catastrophic failure is because of the level of success that HE brought to Arsenal. No one is saying he shouldn't go. Hell, the reason Arsenal is struggling (which is crazy that 5th is considered struggling BTW) is because Wenger is finally frustrated with the noise and I think he's ready to go somewhere to enjoy managing well again and being appreciated for it. They are playing Bayern while the other top teams either aren't in CL or playing significantly smaller clubs.

I'd be pissed too if I'd given a third of my life to build something special and then get trashed by the supporter base that you helped build.

I'd hardly consider what anyone is doing as "trashing" Most of the people I know are fully appreciative of what Wenger has done, it's just time for a change. So please ****ing cut it with the notion that we are a bunch of unappreciative brats, it's a stupid false narrative and undermines any point you're trying to make.

We lost seven games last year. The idea of us losing to destiny is absurd. We didn't win the league because of how poor we played. It was there for the taking, and Leicester had a lower point total than many past champions. I posted all the numbers on that in the EPL thread a few weeks ago.

How do you do take second in the EPL and play poorly? The league is too good for that. Could they have played better? Of course. Hell, unless you win every match, everyone in every sport can always have played better.

Again, no one said he shouldn't move on. He shoul. But not because the "game has passed him by" or he's unprepared. He tried to sit back a bit vs. Liverpool and it didn't work. He put Giroud in not only because of Sanchez's attitude but let's face it, Liverpool is trash on set pieces. It made sense but it didn't work. Give credit that Liverpool is just a damn good squad.

Look, as an outsider looking in, Wenger and Arsenal are the reason I even started watching soccer(well that and satellite TV).

I'm kind of bummed that he's probably going to move on this year and seeing some of the vitriol coming from Arsenal supporters for a guy who did so much for his team EVERY time Arsenal struggles is not cool. But since it's obvious other opinions aren't allowed here, I'll just watch and be quiet going forward.

Other opinions are more than welcome here, just don't come here, accuse us of being unappreciative and make it out like we're ungrateful for the two decades of service Wenger has given us. One of the signs in the stands yesterday had big bold letters that said Thank You Wenger before saying it was time to move on. It's an absolute farce that Wenger is being treated unfairly, just because he's had a good run doesn't mean we don't blow sunshine up his *** when things could obviously be better.
