So the club is still a selling club with that budget.

I mean, it's reasonable business still, especially considering the money we just threw at Lacazette and Aubameyeng. As much as I'd like us to Manchester this and throw 400m at our problems, that's just not what we do. We have some decent sellable assets, and 50m+selling should be enough to bring in a few solid players to replace the deadwood.

It's not very reasonable considering our net spend last year was around £10M. I've just seen someone say it's restricted due to FFP, not sure if it's true or not.

Nah, I wouldn't believe that, I would believe that we're just not a club that's interested in spending 400m on players to solve our problems, it's really just as simple as that. We can dress it up in a 100 different ways, it doesn't change who our owners are, it doesn't change what their vision for the club is. Kroenke has stated multiple times, in no uncertain terms, that Arsenal must be self-sustaining, you have to understand every decision the club makes from that perspective.

            Found on reddit:

In his final season, Arsene Wenger sold Chamberlain to Liverpool to help end Manchester City's unbeaten run, then sent Sanchez to United to knock Spurs out of the FA cup and Giroud to Chelsea to stop Mourinho from winning a trophy.

Santi Cazorla has officially left the club.

Heard he's off to Villareal, I hope his playing career isn't over.

Sanchez's complete overall lack of form at United was an absolute treat to see.

Sanchez sucking, combined with Giroud fitting right in might've been the saving grace for the shambolic season we had.

All right boys, it looks like Unai Emery is our new boss. It's obviously not completely out there, but the more i think about it the more I'm 100% behind his hiring. I don't think that anything bad that happened at PSG was really 'his fault' in that he had a ton of control over what was happening. On that note, I am definitely looking forward to life under a new manager. I'm ready for the growing pains, I'm ready for us to underperform with a new manager for hopefully 1/2 a season. Most of all I'm excited that we might see some actual movement from us as we shape the team differently with all of our new backroom staff.

I am kinda excited about Emery coaching Arsenal and never would have expected for him to want the job coming from PSG. I don't expect much from him this season but we shall see what happens. Like you I am just interested in something different and new at Arsenal even if it doesn't work out.

He wasn't PSG level though really, it was too big of a step up for him.

Think he will be quite good for you guys actually.

He couldn't have been any less than Tuchel imo but we'll see. I really don't think it was that big of a step for him to go there as some people make it out to be. Maybe he just couldn't deal with having Neymar in the dressing room which I feel is going to be a problem for any manager who isn't going to bend over for him.

Neymar is not PSG's only, or even biggest problem. They have a big problem with the mental side of the game, most of the team tends to not show up on the biggest stages. PSG needed a manager like Zidane, rather than Emery.

I have my doubts about Tuchel at PSG, but he does have more experience dealing with big egos than Emery did.
