He wasn't exactly on Jurgen Klinsmann's good side either for whatever reason. Nagbe sometimes seems to be coasting a little too much in MLS, but he's still a very dangerous player when on his game. And when it comes to the U.S. in 2017, he's been on his game pretty often. He was a complete nightmare for Costa Rica the other night.

As for Mexico's performance, it wasn't really that shocking. If Osorio gets canned, it'll be a shame. That team winning the Gold Cup would've been fairly surprising. But let's talk a little more about Andre Blake. He was pretty damn good last night and has been a really solid goalkeeper for awhile. I wish he was American, haha. His performance stands out more to me than Mexico's lackluster effort.

I was hoping for U.S. vs. Mexico as always, but kudos to Jamaica. They won't be scared of us, that's for sure.

Osorio getting canned would only be a shame for US fans, he's a pretty bad manager.

Don't get to see those fk's from Jozy much at TFC because of Giovinco and even Bradley, but damn was that ever a piece of brilliance.

Nice to get the win. I hope Blake is ok. That looked like a painful injury.

Definitely think Blake should have gotten the golden ball.

That being said, Bradley was better this tournament than he's been in quite some time. Not his best necessarily, but much much better.

Not sure about anyone else, but I've seen about enough of Zardes in a US shirt. No more please.

Yeah, there's really no reason for him to be there. He ended up being involved in the last goal (fairly unintentionally), but he legitimately misplayed the ball at his feet multiple times in his limited minutes. He just doesn't belong at this time.

Nonetheless, it's great to see the U.S. win the Gold Cup. That's always a bonus! Jordan Morris got beaten on the Jamaica goal, but he more than made up for it. And he was pretty dangerous and all over the field in multiple games. He probably has a leg up on some of the others to make it to Russia next year, but there are still several games before that decision needs to be made.

I agree on Bradley though. He didn't piss me off nearly as much as he has in the recent past. He was pretty solid, and Nagbe was really really good this tournament.

Nagbe looked good, but for me he still lacks that final pass/cross/decision in the final third for him to be what he could be. He's one of our most technically gifted players in the midfield for sure though.

Well a win is a win and Arena has not lost yet. Amazing that a kid from Long Island can get more out of these guys than the German legend.

Hopefully we can at least get to the round of 16 in the WC next year.

Did he really get more out of them or was it a byproduct of a crappy tournament, from a talent perspective and quality of play?

                        I think the latter.

I definitely don't think we can compare the two a lot to this point, but I think it's pretty clear Arena's roster decisions and/or subs have been pretty damn good so far. He just seems to be more in tune with the team as a whole, but it's still early.

The pulse of the team is much better, and that can't be argued. Whether or not Arena is a better coach than Klinsmann is a moot point right now, and the only thing that matters is that we're in MUCH better shape than we were last year.

Klins was NEVER going to be a long term solution. He's essentially the national team version of LVG; you bring him in to change up the system from the ground up, and he lays the foundations for future success. He did the same thing for Germany, but as an actual coach he was equally awful for them as he was for us.

In all likelihood, Arena isn't the answer either, but over the next few years we might start to see the results of some of the changes Jurgen made. It won't be as spectacular as Germany's transformation, because they are entirely focused on just this one sport (and also pay-to-play in the US will help to hold us back as long as it exists), but we will probably start to see some improvements.

I just hope we have actual plans for a post-Arena team. He will get us the results we need right now, and will probably have a reasonable showing in Russia, but I just hope he's not seen as the way forward.

Got to love these CONCACAF refs.

And that was lovely defending by us there. Jeez
