I believe that is the best option at this point. You need someone who knows what they're doing or this would really turn into a ****show.

Damn, honestly didn't think they'd actually do it. Well now they need to find an improvement. I'm sure whoever they hire will get the usual 2-3 match "we finally got a new coach" boost from the players, but long term is what actually matters.

Klinsmann will be fine. Definitely won't have a shortage of job offers.

The long term answer will not come until after the World Cup I suspect - hopefully anyway, since the alternative is finding the long term answer in November 2017 because we missed out.

I didn't think we'd fire him. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I'm reminded on a weekly basis why I dislike Kyle Martino. Totally fine with Klinsmann getting fired, but let's not rewrite history and pretend he didn't win big games, and beat big teams. And I'm tired of people picking apart every thing JK said and feeling offended/patronized by it. But whatever.

I liked this article from Goal.com about players who could benefit or suffer because of the coaching change: http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/66/un...medium=twitter

I am confused why we've so little of Lichaj or Villafana.

We need to go forward, by hiring someone we fired 10 years ago.

Granted, Bruce has had success in those 10 years. But, it's going to be interesting to see if he has the steady hand to overcome the early hole we've dug ourselves. The national pool is also more talented now than it was 10 years ago.

It's going to be interesting for sure.

Well, the next 3 matches are against weak teams that this team would have played well against regardless of the manager, so we won't know much until the June and September of 2017 when the team plays those good teams again.

The first mistake was made years ago when Klinsmann didn't cut bait right after Brazil...

Dempsey, Bradley, and Altidore should have never been invited back. Thank you for years of service, but...done.

Jones, for all his faults, outplays them every time out it seems...so I can't argue with bringing him around after Brazil.

JK should've started rebuilding the roster right then, and these guys should have never seen the pitch in a USMNT strip again.

                          Instead...stagnation.

Altidore is arguably playing the best soccer of his career, so I don't agree on him. Dempsey was still our biggest threat before he got hurt last year, so I'm not sure I agree on him either.

The Bradley/Jones midfield combo has been bad for a long time, however, and it would benefit the US if those two never made another key National Team start.

I think things are going in the right direction, but that's also not good enough right now. We need results really soon, or we're going to be on the outside looking in when it comes World Cup time. I can't fathom that as a huge USMNT fan..

That being said, our best three players are probably Fabian Johnson, Pulisic, and Bobby Wood. All three aren't with the team right now, but they'll be there for World Cup qualifiers when it really counts.

I don't even care about the result all that much or really care who was or wasn't there. What I do care about is these guys can't make simple passes and have bricks for feet. I'd think that after being together for this period of time doing nothing but training that they'd be able to somewhat consistently put attacking moves together. So tired of watching these guys plod around with absolutely no ball control.
