Oh yes. 3 points. Top of the table. We've come a long way from that Klinnsman article.

I still maintain that article was straight bull****. It's like they were sitting on it and broke it out when we lost on the road in a tough environment. While ignoring everything positive that had happened not too long before.

Agreed. I fell for it at first but what came out after it seemed to contradict. I am pleased with the changes he has made in our lineup and we seem to be improving... Is Donovan invited back to the team soon? He would take Zusi's spot in this formation.

Yes. If course it has nothing to do with the service he's been getting of late. He was always getting that. You guys were calling for his head before Germany. Maybe the TEAM is just playing better which is all i said in the first place. I can't help it that i stay positive about the talent we have whether we are winning or losing. Like Tim said let's just enjoy his current form. You guys will have plenty of time to lose confidence in him the next time he struggles a bit.

I don't think it's anything like that. We lost confidence in him because he seemed to lose it in himself. It was evident by his lazy runs and lack of strength in holding the ball up. He'd lose the ball - and look around and blame someone else.

Now, he loses the ball - you bet your butt he is chasing the man down. He holds up the ball, plays smart balls to the playmakers. Runs off the ball - like dead on sprints - and makes smart runs. I think he could be more of a force in the air on corners - but other than that, he's played exceptionally well these last few games.

The reason why noone ever gives up on Dempsey is because the guy is all heart and pride - you doubt him even a little bit, he'll set you straight. It's about time Jozy did the same.

Say what you want but there are tons of times that Dempsey is hella lazy out there. But since he scored more it gets overlooked. Jozy has always worked hard, in my opinion. Sure he had times where he was visibly frustrated but hey Im a fan of the kid, so it's going to be difficult to alert my view. Either x way happy for the the points.

Thank you, Matt10. While we don't expect Jozy to score every match, to say that the only thing that has changed with him is the team around him is false, false, false. Maybe it's a collective team confidence on the national stage that has unlocked it. Maybe it's just that the matches are more important now. Whatever it is, we finally are seeing the full match commitment that we need to see up front. Whether it's pressing right after losing possession or tracking back and winning an odd ball in the deep midfield here and there, it's great!

I do agree with you on Dempsey at times. However, he has consistently had great chances and was a bit unlucky to not score yet again tonight, which would have been 8 in 9 matches. Dempsey has proved that he is the most talented scorer that we have. No one else on the team can create a goal by themselves like he can. That bending goal he scored against Germany on his off foot would probably not be duplicated by anyone else on this team.

But in the end, it's great to be having these discussions because it is a vast improvement over having a team where you never know where the goals are going to come from due to having ****ty options.

Am I the only one who doesn't really mind if Donovan doesn't come back at this point? I'd love the talent, but Zusi is playing really well

I think if JK can hold off until he's pissed enough to prove himself then brings him in at the right time, it could be a very, very, very good thing for this team.

So you seriously think klinsmann would have kept playing him if all of these was going on as often as you guys make it out to be? Ok. Just all of a sudden he's working harder just because he scored in the last 4? That is just silly. I'll give you that his confidence was shaken because he knows he was beastin' in club play but not Int.,but effort hold up play, and runs of the ball were not the issue. And we'll just have to agree to disagree. Go 'Merica!!!

It has nothing to do with his goals to me. He's stepped up his all around play big time to me. I even commented in here on one instance in the away match with Guatemala where he stopped a run that would have been almost a sure goal. I guess we will have to disagree on his change in play for the USMNT over the past 18 months. That's OK though, I enjoy the back and forth.

Yes, I love the discussion about Altidore. We are very lucky to have him playing like this. His offseason will be an exciting transfer rumor mill

It's hard to say. You want a guy like Donovan at the World Cup as long as it doesn't hurt chemistry. It'll be interesting to see if Cherundolo comes back as well.

I do think we may change formation wise though going into 2018 World Cup which is of course a long time away from now. Looking far ahead I know but I'm curious to see how we could fare with a big/small combo at striker. Jozy and Mcinerney if he turns out could be a joy to watch. We have a plethora of promising young talent and I'm really intrigued to see how they do in the U-20 World Cup and Gold Cup.

I have a feeling we'll see Donovan in the next round of qualifiers in September. It would just feel right having him in the squad against Mexico in Columbus.
