Spoiler
Hard-fought and well-deserved win for our guys.
Hamid (GK): Didn't really have much to do, but made himself available for passes and came out and punched the ball really well.
De La Garza (RB): Played out of position, but did a decent enough job. You could tell he usually plays centrally because he looked a bit lost when asked to push forward.
Parkhurst (CB): Played really well.
Cameron (CB): He and Parkhurst absolutely dominated Venezuela. They both have good pace and look comfortable with the ball at their feet.
Pearce (LB): Solid.
Zusi (RM): Looked a bit slow, but linked up well with Burnbury (his MLS teammate). Looked better on the left than he did on the right.
Jones (CM): An absolute monster. He controlled the midfield.
Larentowicz (CM): He and Jones seem to have a good understanding of each other and they did a good job of making themselves available for passes.
Shea (LM): Could have easily had two goals in the first half. He looked equally dangerous on the left and the right.
Feilhaber (CAM): He was a little hot and cold. Didn't always show for the ball when Jones and Larentkowicz were looking to play a pass, but when he did, he made something happen. Put Shea through on goal with a nice pass.
Burnbury (ST): Thought he did well as a lone striker. Held up the ball fairly well. Took a few too many touches at times.
Loyd: Came on for Pearce at LB and linked up well with Shea down the flank.
Sapong: Looked quick and very good in the air when he came on.
Evans: Didn't notice him much when he came on.
Wondolowski: Had a couple of good efforts saved by the Venezuela keeper.
Clark: He is still Ricardo Clark. But he scored a goal, so fair play to him.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Agreed, I was hoping it would be on a channel I could watch away from home because I was out and about. I wanted to catch at least part of it.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Watched the first half, then went out for the night.
First thought, the play-by-play guy was AWFUL. It would have been better with only Twellman in the booth. ESPN is missing Rob Stone for that role.
Pleased we were able to get a win. One of my friends made the point that its just Venezuela, but a win is a win. We controlled the entire match, but their keeper made quality save after quality save. Easily could have been a 3-0 or 4-0 win.
Jermaine Jones was a stud. Its obvious that he is in midseason form. Well ahead of the MLS guys with the exception of Shea. I also liked what I saw from Bunbury.
Looking forward to the match at Panama this week. Another chance for some of these guys (especially in the back) to prove that they deserve a shot in the next camp with the European players.Comment

Midfielders: Michael Bradley, Maurice Edu, Fabian Johnson, Jermaine Jones, Jose Torres, Danny Williams

Glad we finally get to see Donovan and Dempsey together. Also, love the addition of Terrence Boyd. He's recently broken into the 18 for Borussia Dortmund.Comment
