I'm 99% sure it was Joe Gyau. He's a future star for USMNT.

U-23 roster for Olympic qualifying is below. They will add one more this week, probably Alfredo Morales once he gets released by Hertha Berlin. He's replacing the injured Dilly Duka.

U-23s start qualifying next week in Nashville.

GOALKEEPERS (2): Bill Hamid (D.C. United; Annandale, Va.), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire; Lilburn, Ga.)

DEFENDERS (6): Josh Gatt (Molde; Plymouth, Mich.), Perry Kitchen (D.C. United; Indianapolis, Ind.), Ike Opara (San Jose Earthquakes; Durham, N.C.), Kofi Sarkodie (Houston Dynamo; Huber Heights, Ohio), Zarek Valentin (Montreal Impact; Lancaster, Pa.), Jorge Villafaña (Chivas USA; Anaheim, Calif.)

MIDFIELDERS (6): Freddy Adu (Philadelphia Union; Potomac, Md.), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana; Chula Vista, Calif.), Mix Diskerud (Gent; Oslo, Norway), Jared Jeffrey (Mainz; Richardson, Texas), Amobi Okugo (Philadelphia Union; Sacramento, Calif.), Michael Stephens (LA Galaxy; Naperville, Ill.)

FORWARDS (5) : Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls; Barnegat, N.J.), Terrence Boyd (Borussia Dortmund; Berlin, Germany), Teal Bunbury (Sporting Kansas City; Prior Lake, Minn.), Joe Gyau (Hoffenheim; Silver Spring, Md.), Brek Shea (FC Dallas; Bryan, Texas)

I'm quite pleased with the amount of MLS talent on the roster. I think we should qualify rather easily, and I'm optimistic that we win the whole thing considering the friendly we had against Mexico.

Am I wrong for feeling very confident with this group? I'm even more confident once they add the three overage players for the Olympics. Play begins in Nashville this weekend.

I think they do qualify. Have to wait and see other teams players before guessing a place.

If you have ESPN Insider, they are doing a nice job with the USMNT blog. Today they had a blog post up about potential overage players should the team qualify for the Olympics.

The writer mentioned that Demsey, Donovan and Bocanegra have all expressed interest in playing. Factor in those three potentially with Danny Williams, Timmy Chandler and Jozy Altidore and you have a very dangerous squad.

I'm not sure how Landon and Deuce fit into a 4-3-3, but I do like Danny Williams as a defensive mid and Chandler at RB or LB.

edit: Also, U-23's open CONCACAF Olympic qualifying play tonight at 9 pm CT against Cuba on Universal Sports.

Huge 6-0 win tonight over Cuba. Corona scores three times, Adu and Agudelo also net goals.

                  Next match Saturday vs. Canada.

With USA whooping Cuba and now Mexico destroying T&T, looks like we're heading for another usa-mexico matchup.

how does the schedule work with world cup qualifying?

.. canada should be a much better game tonight than cuba right? though i do have to watch the Fire tonight. philadelphia should be terrible without Adu and Okugo or whatever his name is

Guess the young guys read a few too many of their press clippings. Also, can't ignore the fact that Agudelo is unavailable. Monday is a must win.

Unrelated, Herculez Gomez scored again today for Santos Laguna. How about him for an overage player should we qualify? He could play wide or as a target forward in the 4-3-3.
