That first half was brutal. Newcastle just ran circles around everyone in a blue jersey. We were lucky to pull the point back out of that. Maybe should have even had a winner. But after that first half I am content with the point.

I completely get your point, KG. But, are you positive the club made money last year? I know 2012 was the first time since Roman has owned the club that they turned any profit and that was from winning the CL.Comment

I agree with you guys about the transfer window, but at the same time, the more I see RLC play the more I feel we don't need Pogba. Unless we are changing to a 4-3-3 and playing them together.
Jose has never won at St James, we knew that going into this game. That team has been our bogey team for a while, no matter how awful they are they always turn into world beaters when they play us.
A point away to Newcastle is fine. It's not ideal, but it's fine.
Ivanovic needs to get benched, imo he's just as at fault for the first goal as Zouma. Like, cmon dude. Push your body up against him and make it hard for him to take a shot, don't just freaking stand there and try to kick him in the butt. Bane looks like he hardly even wants to try.
Baba hasn't necessarily looked amazing, but at this point I think we should just take the risk and give him a run of games. He's not some youth player that needs to be slowly broken in, he's 22 and was one of the best fullbacks in the Bundesliga.
Anyway, I still have faith that Jose will right the ship and turn things around.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I agree that RLC could be every bit as good as Pogba in a few years but the reality is that he isn't right now. I know it's a tough dilema since shelling out the cash would almost mean the end if RLC here before it even starts but if we want to the best in Europe again those are the kind of players we need in the XI.
With our current formation we're just getting overrun in the MF and leaving our backline out to dry. Cesc has to play in that #10 role because he's a liability on defense.
It's still early but we have to start getting some form in the league soon or else other clubs will start to smell blood and attack us like they did United A Few Yrs back.
Hazard, Cesc, and Diego need to get it going soon.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
My thing is though: how do we KNOW that RLC isn't at the level we need him to be yet? Pogba wasn't even the most talented in his academy class (it was Ravel), the reason we all know about Pogba is because Juve saw how promising he was and actually gave him game timeComment

I agree Bravo...hence the "dilema". Getting Pogba is basically giving up on RLC w/o even knowing what he's capable of.Comment

How many times must this happen to Ivanovic before Mou opens his eyes, I mean he dropped Terry, why cant he drop Ivanovic too.Comment
