Haven't had a chance to comment on the win over Walsall til now.
Ramires was fantastic, as was RLC. I've always wanted to see Remy on the wing but I was surprised he and Falcao both logged so many minutes with Costa out tomorrow. Great to see Kenedy score too.Comment

Yeah, I'm sticking by my prediction of Newcastle going down. That is a dire situation.
Usually you can't put much stock in preseason friendlies, but when you lose to Portland 2, which plays in about the 4th level of the US pyramid, you might have a problem.Comment

Yeah, while Costa getting banned is not ideal, if it was going to happen, this is a nice and easy stretch of games for him to sit out.

The Matic-Cesc MF partnership has to go. Those 2, especially Cesc have been terrible. WTF was that defending on the corner? He just let him go and have a free header. Why was even marking someone in the box. He's the least athletic player we have on the pitch. He gives the ball away cheaply so many times. Outside of that bout of passiveness, Zouma was stout in battling Mitrovic. That guy is a handful
I'm ready for Rami-RLC. Rambo was an instant immediate impact today. He might have the passing range of Mikel but can still run away from defenders, put in a tackle, and give us the rare moment of brilliance.
Hell, I'd rather see Oscar in MF over Cesc right now. And I'd rather see anyone up front over Falcao.
There's still no reason to not believe our players will turn their form around but I really think we failed to in the summer transfer window. Baba was much needed cover, Pedro is class, and Begovic is by far the best back-up keeper (wait...that actually isn't too bad
) BUT we had/have so much money to spend from last year's winnings, new sponsorship deal, past season's profits, etc...
