Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Obviously replacing Hazard is impossible, but I think a lot of people focus too much on our striking options and forget that our fully healthy midfield is arguably the second-third best in the league. Imo only City can field a 3-man midfield better than Kante/Jorginho/Kovacic or RLC.
The difference in quality and depth between the top 6 and even the Everton/Leicester/Wolves group is huge. Even with the growing pains I think we can still finish comfortably in the top 6.Comment

BREAKING NEWS -
No it's not Hudson-Odio finally signing that new contract that has been teased for weeks on end. No, it's not King Drogba finding the fountain of youth and coming back to lead our front lines. But yes, it's my return to OS and my favorite thread...
Jokes aside, I took some positives away from that United match. We caught some bad breaks and lost concentration for goals 2 and 3 completely. Zouma had an absolute atrocious games, also was I was pretty surprised that Pulisic started from the bench in this game.
For tomorrow I would like to see Barkley move back in the AM role with Pulisic going to the wing bumping out Mount. Worried about this game but in grand scheme of things it has little meaning outside a win over Liverpool and a trophy. Right now we're not organized enough to sit back and defend here so why not let lose and see what happens.
As far as where we will finish, getting the top 4 will be difficult but it is possible and too early to tell right now. However, I don't see us dropping out of the top 6.
Plus side Willian and Rudiger will be back shortly... hopefully Kante will follow as it seems he struggled after getting a run against United.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Welcome back!
Also I do think Mount had a pretty good game.
Kante apparently picked up another injury. Not sure what's going on lately, bad luck most likely, we used to be seemingly immune to injuries. We had the best injury record of the top 6 and top 4 before the top 6 was a thing.
Hopefully we can put this behind us and stop getting all our damn best players injured.Comment

Honestly I think we’re actually playing very well under Frank so far. We’ve been really unlucky not to get a few extra goals in our games, and the defense is still a bit shaky, but overall I’m actually pretty optimistic.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
The first 20 minutes was absolutely breathtaking football and then the Jekyll and Hyde effect came in.
Although we weren't lucky to get a couple goals, we were lucky they didn't get more either. Mount was amazing though, not much from Pulisic yesterday though, good work rate. Pedro again played really well. His vision and he's just so smart in the game as far as movement and what not.
And yeah Bra, absolutely atrocious game by Willian. Not sure that was the right moment to put him in either, he hurt us more actually.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
After 120 minutes on Wednesday vs Pool there was no way a non-heavily rotated squad was going to be able to keep up that intensity. Once the match settled, I thought Leicester was the better of the two sides. I don’t think we played terribly, especially the CBs, Kante, and Mount but there was too much of a disconnect in midfield which put our back four under pressure. Thankfully Zouma and AC picked up everything.
Agree Alt, we should have buried them early but just like last year, there are signs of being horrible in front of goal. I think we have one league goal on 24 shots on target smh.
Oddly enough though, I feel good about this group. Progressing every match. Just go to Norwich this weekend and leave with all three.
Oh yeah....Willian lol. He was so bad that I felt sorry for him. Like a monstar stoke all of his powers.

Lmao yeah Willian was something else.
I agree KG, this group in general just gives me a good feeling. I genuinely think Frank can do really well if we give him enough time.
Leicester was much better in the second half, but they were also lucky not to be down by 3 at the end of the first.
Just need to be more clinical when we are dominating the beginning of games honestly, that’s essentially how high pressure systems operate. Overwhelm the opposition and capitalize on mistakes early, take a preferably multi-goal lead and then use the momentum to prevent the other team from recovering.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Monstar reference is spot on KG...He should have probably been used in that U23 game yesterday with Bats and Rudiger.
Looks like Zappacosta to Roma on loan is confirmed.
Also nice play from the U23 yesterday.
That goal by Tino Anjorin.Last edited by Altimus; 08-20-2019, 12:29 PM.Comment

I follow most of the interesting first team players on IG.
Today I thought Tammy somehow got transferred to Fulham cuz there was a pic in a Fulham kit and then I realized it was “Timmy Abraham” id been following all along. [emoji2363]

I'm more excited about the creative attacking potential of a CHO-RLC-Pulisic-Abraham attacking 4.Support Local Sports
