Yeah Fabregas has been pretty bad this year. Even late in the match when Pedro won a corner we had all the guys up plus Morata had just come on and what does Fab do....hit the first man.

I wonder if Kante’s illness changed Conte’s approach. A 3-5-2 with an extra body in MF with an outlet up-top would have been nice in hindsight but sadly we didn’t have an extra one our bench smh. Hell, we had to put on Emerson as an attacking option which moved Alonso into some sort of LWB/LM/SS hybrid formation for like 5 mins until Morata came on.

In a weird positive spin it’s crazy that we only gave up one goal and City really only had one other good chance (Sane’s shot saved off the line by Azpi).

Sadly though, this approach can’t be too convincing in terms of Eden and Thibo signing new deals.

If Arsenal wasn’t such a dumpster fire now we’d probably be getting killed more by the media right now.

Our bench was 4 defenders and 2 target-men strikers.

Pathetic, disgusting, terrible, horrible... abysmal performance.

As mentioned, Pedro was having a terrible game and it is Willian that comes off. Subs were made way too late; Morata on at the 89th minute?

Most of the game we were just a wave shifting left to right of the pitch and that is it.

On a side note, Michael Oliver is one of the youngest referees in the EPL but I feel his vision is that of a 80 year old man.

          Oliver’s positioning is horrible.

I can't believe Pedro is still getting significant playing time.

              Yeah.

I’ve seen KG and others bemoan his selection. But to see him in action for just those 15 minutes or so I caught during lunch....ouch. He misplaced a pass or just outright lost possession no less than 5 times in just the little time I watched.

I watch more Chelsea than I care to admit, mostly because of Christiansen, and the fact that my best friend is a Chelsea supporter, but Pedro has been dire for sometime now. I generally believe in the "Play yourself out of bad form" but Pedro is just getting ridiculous.

Time for Pedro to go back to La Liga and to a club like Sevilla perhaps.

He still has some nice finishing here and there but many parts of his game are currently lacking.

Meanwhile Musonda and Kenedy are on loan... not saying they would be answer but it would be something different. But... Conte knows best!

Christiansen hasn't exactly been hot lately either. David Luiz should be playing that position, but him and Conte can't play nice.

Outside of Cesar, consistency hasn't been the best among all the CB's.

For me, Azpilicueta is the best defender in the Premier League.

Yeah Pedro should definitely end up at a place like Sevilla or Valencia.

AC seems to make one critical mistake a match that gets capitalized off of. He didn’t effectively clear the ball that led to the Silva goal vs Man City and he did something that I’m trying to forget about vs Barca but he’s definitely a stud and should be our rock back there for the next 7-8 years.

Even when Luiz was playing this year he was pretty shaky. We’re loaded at CB though. We just need midfielders, attackers, and probably a new manager.

Do you think Zouma's long term future is at Chelsea? Not many players that get sent out on loan (Christensen the exception) make it back.

It's really amazing how you guys go from mostly perfect season to dumpster fire so often. Though this year, you can really point to a couple key things. You replaced your best striker and 2nd best midfielder with far inferior players. And you even sold one of them to a direct rival like total dummies.

I think he’s good enough to be in the rotation. We’ll move on from Luiz this summer and it’s probably up to Cahill to see if he wants to fight it out and/or be a rotation player instead of a guaranteed starter at a mid-level club.

Zouma really just needed minutes coming off his injury (ACL) 2 years ago and he’s been a fixture for Stoke in a 3man backline.

                                AC
                                Azpi
                                Rudiger
Ampadu (although I like him better at CDM)
Tomori (starter on the 2016 U-19 France team that won the Euros with Mbappe, JK Augustin, Issa Diop)
                                Zouma/Cahill/Luiz

A lot will depend on what system the next manager employs.
