Honestly, if Baka is fully fit then 3-4-3 is probably our best option. He’s worked best in a 2-man midfield, and he actually seems to be a big game player mentally speaking.

Pretty much the only games he’s performed well in this season were all big ones.

The biggest thing I worry about with Baka right now is match fitness. Had we not conceded that goal I’d definitely say him to play defensive and compact.

At this rate he won’t even get into Rayo Vallecano.

Not gonna lie, I didn't think Hazard played very well.

Willian and Kante were our best players, thought the back line did decently for the most part despite conceding 3 goals.

CFC actually played ok, but you are making too many personal mistakes. Your purchasing policy within the last years is mildly strange. And Conte's dead man walking, but it's nothing new unrest simmers always below the surface of CFCs.

I didn’t think he was that bad. Overly reliant on flicks instead of just laying it off, absolutely but him and Willian did a good of carrying the attack forward via dribbles. He held the ball up very well on the layoff to Giroud whose pass was a tad slow and allowed Dembele to track back and get his foot on it.

I didn’t mind the tactics. I generally thought we were dangerous when we went forward.

Disappointed because I thought our mistakes were avoidable but time to regroup and make a late push for that 4th spot in the league. Good experience for AC and Rudi.

                  Leicester and then Spurs.

Yeah Hazard wasn’t terrible, he was just very much below his standards, which are quite high.

I forgot to extend the DVR today so missed all of ET. Good to see Morata score on one of the only times Willian was able to get the ball and run with it. Baka was pretty poor in his half with the ball but without he was very solid. He allows Kante to go forward with the ball almost at will. You could tell Baka was keeping our shape once he got subbed off and it all fell apart with Cesc. He just can’t cover the ground needed for a midfield of 2.

Anyway.....favorable draw in Soto for the semis while Spurs and United fight it out.

I agree KG, Baka with ball was disastrous but without, improvement since last time out. Cesc tho, sigh... in a role where if he had 2 CDM's covering, he would be fine. But him at that 2nd CM role with some CDM duties, no good.

Not much from Hazard again... not sure if it is fatigue, desire or the amount of attention he draws.

Also what a bad way for City to lose... a header from Pedro. Especially since he had 2 CB's around him.

But yeah, I'll take the win and the good draw and move on.

International break coming up boys, Spurs next on 4/1.

Not really sure where to start with that one, but our defense seems very disjointed and lacking communication at the moment.

Also, Alonso has been found out defensively this season I think. He is a massive offensive threat, but it seems like a lot of teams target his side.

Our attacking play in the final third was probably our worst aspect of this game though tbh. We created so many chances, and then would just completely botch it once we got near their box. Lloris especially was not on his game today, and we really didn't test him enough for all the space we were able to create in and around the box.

I think we should have tried Bakayoko in this game. He was great against Spurs at the beginning of the season, and it would have given us a bit more mobility in the middle of the park.

Yeah I’m not sure why we keep running Cesc out there when he’s been really poor all season.

Anyway, who do we think is our manager next year?

I really want us to take a chance on Sarri from Napoli. Exciting, attacking football and he’s not a fan of the transfer market which unfortunately seems to be our board’s m.o. the past year or so.

                              Hard to tell really.

Hearing a lot of conflicting stories on both Tuchel and Enrique, and the links with Sarri have all gone pretty cold.

Still think there is a chance we appoint BR, but also wouldn’t be surprised to see a random name come out that hasn’t been discussed. Some reliable journos have said we are considering a few “up-and-coming” managers who are all currently employed. Whispers going around that this is code for BR, but it could very well be that the board is considering taking another AVB type chance.
