Franck Ribery is being forced by UEFA to play for France internationally even though he retired from internationals in August. If he is called up and doesn't play he will receive a three match ban with Bayern.

I hope he plays and scores own goals until they take him out the game.
Wow that really doesn't seem right. He should just fake a stomach virus or something.

Well, that's a joke. I think they're missing the point of that rule. That French team has issues. Would they force Nasri to play if Deschamps called him up?

There is now a soccer pitch in Rio de Janeiro where playing on the field itself creates energy used to power the lights on the pitch. Super cool.

Unfortunate circumstances that lead him to step down, but yeah he was terrible.

Kind of a no-win situation for him. I enjoyed his energy, even though his lack of knowledge forced him to call matches in a very surface level manner.

Just give me Ian Darke and Macca again, please.

As far as replacement, if they want an American, I've always been a fan of JP Dellacamera.

Also please stay away from Wynalda, and Rob Stone.

I'm sure they'll throw big money at Darke/Champion to leave ESPN.

I just wish I could trust FOX to not bring in Joe Buck

Great article on Abramovich by The Times.

I think a vast majority of fans (of all clubs) fall under this quote though:
The most common justification offered by Chelsea fans, however, is also the most egregious. It goes something like this: “I watch football to switch off from the real life. It is an escape. I don’t want to get bogged down in thinking about politics.” This is offensive because it goes to the heart of a wider malaise in football. It is the idea that football is subject to a different set of rules to everything else.

I think they bring in Martin Tyler and pair him with that douchefart Wynalda.

My dream is them just buying Darke and Macca off of ESPN. Or even just Macca to go with Tyler.

That was an incredible game. Milan won 5-4 after it went down to 10 v 10. It also gave us this:

I was iffy about Menez up top for the game, then he goes and does that...

Think he'll start back on the wing against Juve with El Sha and Torres playing.

Firstly, we never score free kicks. Secondly, this was our first midweek away victory Since November 29th, 2011 (yes, 2011). Thirdly, he's a center back. David Luiz eat your heart out.
