 Re: MLS Discussion Thread

You can sign up for the MLS season pass now. It’s $99 or $79 if you have Apple TV.

 Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Not a big MLS fan, but figured I'd at least check out TFC home opener.

Except it's not on TV, it's Apple TV exclusive?

Guess I have more reason not to care about MLS.

If any of the big 4 networks go exclusive like that in the future, I'm probably tuning out.Comment

Yeah, I'm not paying $100 for Apple TV. Especially when I saw they hired Taylor Twellman.Comment

 Re: MLS Discussion Thread

The Apple TV thing really frustrates me. We got 90% of the games for free on a local channel in Seattle with great quality broadcast teams.

I am fortunate that I get MLS+ on Apple TV for free as a T-Mobile subscriber, but that just makes me lucky, it doesn't make this whole thing good.

Apparently a chunk of the games are not paywalled (40%?) but that doesn't seem to change the optics.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

?Ask me about the Xbox Ally handheld - I'm on the team that made it.Comment

 Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Finally got to see a Toronto FC match on "regular, free" TV on the weekend and it ended in a pretty drab 0-0 draw with San Jose. Figures that would be my luck.Last edited by bhurst99; 03-29-2023, 01:09 PM.Comment

 Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Greg Vanney leaving Toronto FC at the end of the 2020 season and joining LA Galaxy a few weeks later has been a lose-lose situation for both clubs.

TFC has been awful the past two seasons and sit in the bottom of the Eastern Conference table and the once proud LA Galaxy are dead last in the league.Comment

 Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Kind of odd that it's announced before pen has been put to paper but I'm guessing he plays more than one season. But forget about him playing anything close to every game. I'd be very wary of buying a ticket in another city months in advance and expecting him to show up.

I wouldn't be surprised if they loan him to Barcelona, either, once the MLS season ends.

I can't blame Apple for splashing the cash. Got to sell those Apple MLS packages. Kind of curious to how well (or poorly) the MLS has been doing on Apple.Comment
