If this is what we're going to see from the Timbers this season, I'm going to be really happy. Absolutely DOMINATED the second half. If Johnson could have put that bicycle kick on frame in the 89th minute it would have been an amazing way to win it.

Caught the last 10 minutes of the match, and boy glad I did! Much excitement from the game, and the atmosphere is crazy.

Solid opening weekend for the MLS.

That atmosphere in Portland was fantastic. Relly impressive, and a solid performance by the team as well.

They better tighten things up at the back. You know what bonehead mistakes can do to a season...

Hopefully it's just a matter of getting games together as a unit under their belt.

Silvestre flew in from Paris the day before the game & had never practiced with the team, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm expecting a lot of high scoring games from the Timbers this season. My expectations for the Timbers starting the season are much lower than for Liverpool, so I probably won't be as frustrated watching them.

I was kind of bleh about Timbers-New York being the opening match on ESPN, but now I see why. That atmosphere was amazing.

Opening weekend has a Timbers home game as the ESPN game mainly because of the Timbers Army. After last season (and yesterday) it will probably stay that way.

Just saw that Jay DeMerit ruptured his achilles and will be sidelined for 6-8 months. That sucks.

Tough opening night for my Sounders. Typical opening night though. Visiting team packs the back, gets one great shot (and that was a beautifully placed shot) and wins 1-0. Same thing happened when LA visited for the opener. We hit the post a couple of times. Really think a tie would have been a fair result, but credit Montreal for winning.

Really happy with the rookie Yedlin starting at RB. Kid's got wheels!!! Zack Scott is not a CB and it showed. Rosales is not a ST and it showed. Once we brought in Ochoa, and moved Rosales to the wing, the game opened up a lot more.

As a brazilian footy fan, this game was broadcasted here at ESPN HD, what an incredible atmosphere, was very impressed.

And that bicycle kick at the end deserved to go in.
