Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Salt Lake City is ripping apart TFC tonight and Defoe left the game with a possible hamstring injury. All in all a terrible night.
I'm surprised how well Vancouver is playing. They don't seem to be hurt by Camilo's absence.Comment

RSL continues to get it done. Overall, pretty good games yesterday. Glad to see NE pull off that late win at SJ.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
I don't get why there are these Saturday late afternoon/night games early in the season when it's still incredibly cold at night in the northeast. I'm sure some of it may have to do with television but shouldn't the majority of games be played during the day?Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Hmm. I'm curious what game(s) you're referring to. There's only been two "night" (6pm or later) games in the northeast so far this year.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
It's really not that many. Three games in the "northeast" starting at 6pm or later. Out of 43 games, through this coming weekend. Not really an issue...
Let alone the fact that soccer's meant to be an outdoor sport, they don't cancel because of a little cold/rain/etc. like baseball does.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Chicago's not really the northeast. And 5pm is hardly what I'd call "late."

Why not start these games at 1 pm or 2 pm before the sun goes down?
Even in places like Colorado and Kansas City wouldn't it make more sense to start these games in the early afternoon rather than at 6 pm and 8:30 pm like they did on March 22?
I think it's a big issue as far as attendance goes.Comment

Yeah, I'm sure it will be really warm during the second half of that Chicago game.

I think it's a big issue as far as attendance goes.
Take DC last Saturday for example. It wouldn't have mattered if they kicked off at noon or at 8pm, the weather was **** all day.
KC's a really bad example, they've sold out 38 games in a row. Having the game at 6:30 isn't going to affect that.
For all the reasons why attendance is suffering in some cities, start time is a non-factor.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Not really. Weather's been the biggest cause in the lower attendances (as compared to the average attendance), definitely a lot more than the start time.
