It will probably catch on. Everton has been playing great the past couple season and people are still on the Tim Howard high since the WC.

Everton is big in the states because of Howard and Donovan had a very short stint there.

I don't know. I'm not sure people will tune in just to watch a goalkeeper. If he was a forward or midfielder, I could see it. Hopefully I'm wrong. NBC Sports haven't been shy about marketing him.

I've been an Everton supporter since FIFA 10 turned me on to the sport, and Andy Gray's commentary in particular.

I don't know. I'm not sure people will tune in just to watch a goalkeeper. If he was a forward or midfielder, I could see it. Hopefully I'm wrong. NBC Sports haven't been shy about marketing him.

I agree people probably won't tune just for Howard, but I'm sure there's a lot of Americans who are deciding on a European club to support, and Howard playing for Everton makes the decision easier.

That's exactly it. New Americans trying to get into the sport have to research and find a team to like outside of the MLS. Picking a favorite player to follow is one of the easiest ways to do it. Heck I ended up picking spurs because I did a ton of research and watched games then it came down to two or three teams, then I found out my childhood hero Steve Nash was a Spur fan so I hopped on the wagon.
But Everton was a final three team for me just because of Howard.

Chelsea just signed Drogba so I think our chances just got a little better. We have to keep Lukaku, our offense would be in shambles without him.

I always follow Everton matches mainly because I had enjoyed David Moyes and now really enjoy Roberto Martinez. It didin't hurt that Tim Howard and Landon Donovan play/played for them as well. I use Everton in a lot of my PES master league modes as well
