Aguero, Dzeko, Silva, Kompany, Milner, Toure, Hart, etc...sure, they have been purchased, but they've also stuck around...City seem to desire actually building a team that will last, rather than a new team every season...and it's not too far to think that they saw Toure as a big part of that. He is viewed as a unique talent with unique qualities.

They may have learned from other teams that have not consistently benefited from frequent and significant roster fluctuations.

It's easy to think "well, they're City...they should just go get someone new"...but I don't think that's really their overall MO. They are established now, and I would expect them to tinker for several years, rather than overhaul...unless disaster strikes or a new Mourinho-esque manager comes in and wants a facelift.
Yaya is not, and has never been a stable and reliable player. He is basically the CM version of Balotelli. It wouldn't be an overhaul, they just need to phase out one guy.

Szczesny to his teammates: "well if you guys aren't going to hose this game up I'll just have to do it myself! "

yeah, "overhaul" was a bad choice there...I suspect they over-value him (relative to your estimation), in part because MFers of his size and scoring ability are not often easy to find.

though selling him after a 20 goal campaign might get max value in return...

Use them in the stands all you want, that's fine. Throwing them on the field is idiotic, and now their fans will have a deserved timeout.

How is it cool? I don't mind them throwing it in their own stands but if one throws it on the pitch he's a downright ****. They also wrecked a few seats.

New Pot 1 seeding rules. This is a really good idea if you ask me.

^ Got a chuckle from one of the responses:

Somehow, though, Manchester City will find its way into a group of death.

It won't change that much, now there might be 1 more group of death than usual. At least a couple of the pot 1 teams are going to be weak.

It will probably end up hurting the weaker clubs more than anything else. The same clubs will still be advancing to the group stages.

The result being a well deserved Ashley Cole skooling by Robben.
