Roma are thoroughly overrated. If Man City fail to get out of the group, they should be embarrassed.

I wouldn't call them overrated. They've been playing really well lately.

Roma has some good players. Gervinho looked good in the beginning. But Bayern just scored on all their chances.

Roma aren't overrated at all, Bayern just played one of the best first halves of soccer we've seen. City should be embarrassed though, a team with players like that should be looking to make the finals not constantly struggling to get out of the group stages.

Also holy crap 40 goals in 8 matches today.

You're crazy. They won like 10 out of 11 at home and were barely conceding goals at all this year not to mention outplaying Citeh at the Etihad for the first 60 minutes and thrashing CSKA 5-1. Only loss was to a Juventus side that has looked fantastic this year and that was a horribly officiated game. They just had a Brazil-like moment with Bayern playing the part of Germany.

Agreed about the Citeh part though. They let a golden chance slip through today.

Well, I will agree with this. They were exposed the same way Brazil were. And by a Munich team miles behind where they were a few years back.

Yeah, they definitely had a rough patch but IDK about this Munich team being miles behind. Somehow Robben has gotten even better and they have a MUCH better ST in Lewandowski. Add to that Goetze, an even better Alaba, the experience of Alonso, another year in Pep's system, and a real CB in Benatia. It's a forgone conclusion that they will win the Bundesliga and probably the Pokal so it's really just up to the CL. And they are probably the co-favorites there with Real.

What's crazy is that they're missing one of the more versatile players in Javi Martinez and a top 5 player in the world last year in Ribery. They are scary good.

Yeah, I don't get that assessment of Bayern either. They're going to win their league in March again. dub, are you saying that because they had a bad semifinal last year in this competition? Keep in mind the side they butted up against there. Don't like Pep as a manager? Just trying to understand why you think they're miles behind.

I'm a bit on the fence.

The Heynckes team, using the 4-2-3-1 was definitely faster, more direct and aggressive in their approach than the Pep version. And the Pig/Martinez double pivot was an absolute monster in the treble season.

Heynckes team was much more solid defensively. Pep likes to play a super high line, to create turn-overs in the opponents end. That's why Neuer has been challenged a lot more when things go awry.

But, they have scored 13 goals in their last two games. Bayern are definitely starting to find their mojo!

No, Bayern are a great team, but they aren't the dominant, clear best team in the world they were a few years back. It's more a comment on Roma. When you get obliterated like that, by a team that CSKA Moscow barely lost to (1-0), I think you still have a ways to go to prove yourself.

Def agree on the more aggressive part but Pep is starting to get his own players in that are suited to his style with the core having one more year under their belt. They have the quality to play almost anyway imaginable. I was never a huge fan of Pep's style but no one alive can question his results.

The commentator yesterday had a great line. Something like "Bayern has left Rome in ruins".

Liverpool came out really strong but it's starting to go downhill pretty fast.

You can't give one of the best deliverers of the ball, Kroos, that much time.
