I think it was down to Nagelsmann and Kovac, and they went with Kovac. They can always go after Nagelsmann in 2 years if Kovac does not work out. I think they also flirted with Tuchel, but that went downhill fast.

The sad thing now is that Frankfurt is going to tumble down the table.

      Yeah I agree.

I think part of the reason for Kovac is he will just do whatever Uli & Co. want him to do, whereas Nagelsmann would be more of a long-term appointment.

Anyway, I'm still pretty sure they are going to go hard after Klopp in a couple years.

Bayern's board said the new manager had to be a German speaker, so that also limited their options.

How refreshing to see new up-and-coming faces on the managerial scene.

There's rumblings already that Brendan Rodgers is the early favorite.

That is apparently Gazidis' favorite, or who he's had his eye on. Him, Mislintat, and Raul all have their own favorites at this point it is said.

I do think they'll make an appointment as early as they can—or at least I hope they do. With Raul at the helm, I don't think we'll waste time as he's been through this many times before.

Time to take a trip down memory lane.

Arsene Wenger looks like a bald eagle. Bald eagles look like Arsene Wenger.

Felt like this has been a long time coming but still never really thought about it actually happening.

It's going to be truly bizarre to see someone other than Arsene on the sideline during an Arsenal match. He needs/deserves a break from the hate.

                            This is getting spicier tbh.

From the quotes given and some whispers from non-trash journalists, it's almost beginning to sound like Wenger isn't retiring by choice.

I don't think he is retiring, he's just leaving Arsenal. Also it wouldn't surprise me if they approached Wenger and told him they intended on taking the club in a different direction, and that he should take that into consideration.

If anyone thought Wenger woke up and decided to resign one day is delusional. The man has stated that he doesn't know what a life outside of football is like. There is a literal 0% chance Wenger made this choice alone and with 0 pressure.

I think at minimum he felt he could face the sack and decided to act before that occurred. I believe it was sudden, however, as it came out of nowhere. I don’t believe there wouldn’t have been rumblings if this had been something being discussed.

I don’t believe they flatly told him leave in your own or else, but I do think he made the decision knowing it could come to that.

He’s a very proud man, and I’m not at all surprised he’d want to go out on his terms as much as possible.
