Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
But seriously, he did the job he was paid for which was to make Spurs appear as something they were not. When he got the job there were murmurs about it being part of fattening the club up for a potential sale, increasing their status, etc.
Not a sale, but job done. Just like Arsenal, I don’t believe Spurs (ownership, executive structure) give a **** about winning a damn thing right now. They knew money could be made without it.Comment

Sacking Jose a week from potentially winning a trophy against Pep is just...

I’d imagine he spoke up pretty aggressively about it, Jose might be a douche but he is a proper fan of the game.Comment

Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
I promise you it’s related to the super league, utter madness to sack THE cup final manager right before a cup final when you’re a club desperate for trophies.
I’d imagine he spoke up pretty aggressively about it, Jose might be a douche but he is a proper fan of the game.
I'd say he's being sacked mostly for continuing the same crap that he did at United. The timing of the Super League maybe made it an easier decision, but I'm sure they were ready to end it.
Plus, winning that cup is at best 50/50, if not worse for Spurs considering the opposition. That "cup manager" didn't fair too well in the Europa League, so maybe they're thinking they're no worse off in the league cup final.
I think it was a stupid decision to hire him, but I do agree the timing of this is stupid before the final. Just trying to understand their stupidity and see their reasoning.Comment

Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
I think it's related to the Super League just for the fact that it was an easy PR win for Daniel Levy among the vocal supporters who have wanted Jose gone for awhile now.Support Local Sports

Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
Where does he go from here? Surely that is the last we see him in England. Sacked by Chelsea twice, Manchester Utd and now Tottenham.
Back to Spain or Italy?
I would say the Portugal national Team would be up there as a likely destination depending how they do in the Euros.Comment

Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
The opportune time to sack Jose came as a result of the Super League, but Jose is not getting sacked because of the Super League. He's getting sacked because he's Jose (at least the current iteration of him).Comment

Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
After we were eliminated from Europa League, Levy reached out to agents letting them know the type of manager he wanted. Someone with attacking style and good at developing youth is what Gold reported as Levy wanting.
I think Jose was gone at the end of the season no matter what. Having this huge distraction to cover up the sacking just gave Levy the chance to do it now.
Having Mason take over is just Levy trying to give the fans something to be happy about since he's a huge fan favorite.Current careers:

He went from average Spurs player to club hero after the injury. He was always a fan favorite since he’s been at the club since he was 9 but the injury really elevated his status.Current careers:

Re: The Sack Race aka Official Management Carousel Thread
yeah, that's basically what i was trying to say, it's only related to the Super League in the fact that the Super League causes it to not be news.Support Local Sports
