    Which is more depressing?

    1. Having no soccer to watch

    2. The reality of watching these matches in empty stadiums

Having no soccer to watch, easy. I watch most games on mute anyway.

I’m honestly not noticing the empty stands during matches when they pipe in the audience. My eyes are on the pitch, so the sound tricks my brain. Heard the Premier League is using background noise from FIFA. I definitely appreciate the effort.

Monchengladbach with an absolute gift yesterday to Bayern's title run. Sommer's no look reverse pass that would have been poor on FIFA with fully assisted passing ends up giving Bayern the 1-0 lead.

          No Lewa or Mueller....no prob.

I thought they were trying to avoid these kind of scenes or am I wrong?

As a side note I watched the end of the game after Luiz's red card pretty much ended the Man City-Arsenal game. I really found the fake crowd distracting on television. It looked like a crowd you might see on a Commodore 64 game.

While I don't think it would have mattered since Bayern only dropped 2 points the entire second half of the season, Leipzig grabbed too many draws from the clutches of victory this season. That said, being in first after the first half of the season, qualifying for the Champion's League and still being alive in the Champion's League as it stands makes for a relatively successful season.

While we all knew that Werner was gone after this season, it'll be interesting to see what Leipzig has in mind to attempt to replace him.

Leipzig seems to have a very recruitment strategy/talent scouts.

Do you think they sell Upemacano?

They have pretty decent cover with Klosterman, Konate, and Halstenberg who can step in.

Nkunku was such a good pickup. It's a shame Jean-Augustine hasn't improved too much on his loans. I thought he was going to be the real deal when he left PSG.

Apparently he has some kind of release clause which drops to somewhere between 50-60 M euros this summer. I imagine some team will trigger it, as he is a fantastic defender.

The problem with Leipzig is due to FFP, they cannot fully leverage being owned by Red Bull. The year they sold Naby Keita, they basically just had to sit on 50 M to become compliant due to them "overspending" based on the revenue they were generating while in Bundesliga 2 and 3. Hopefully their continued run of success will lead to continued growth in commercial revenue steams, so they can keep players rather than having to sell them. They will be getting more money from the new Bundesliga TV deal, and are working on expanding RB Arena in Leipzig. Overall the outlook for Leipzig is really bright, it's just frustrating to have young stars get poached by other teams and your best chance at winning silverware is more incumbent on Bayern tripping up than anything your team does.

That's what I hate about FFP, it was created to give everyone a level playing field but it ends up further dividing the gap between the traditional powers and up & coming clubs.

5 years from now we're gonna look back at Leipzig and say "if they could have kept that squad together..."

Looks like Barca will be moving on from Setién. Apparently none of the players like him.

Also saw an Athletic piece (summary, I don’t have a subscription) that talks about how they’ve overall botched their transfers since the summer Suarez, ter Stegen, and Rakitic came in. They’ve basically paid all of the money and have had very few instances where players have been a complete success and settled in.

Will be interesting to see how it goes going forward as their key players continue to move into their 30s.

Real wins La Liga. They were teetering on disaster before Zidane came back and he helped them right the ship all-the-while Barca implodes both on and off the pitch.

If they can get hot in the UCL and run the table it will be like a treble for them.

Fyi, Milan hasn't lost since Serie A restarted and we've beaten just about all the teams above us in the table. So yeah. Forza Milan.

Ahem, Like I said we haven't lost yet, and now we're in an EL spot after looking like **** before the stoppage. Now after dropping the dead weight Milan scores like madmen.

                              Ibra is the man btw.
