I’m starting to think “the world is a simulation” is actually the only reasonable explanation for Zlatan.

The financial figures at the heart of Barcelona news are increasingly alarming and a report in El Mundo has given more context to the numbers, claiming that the club are on the verge of bankruptcy. The club are €1,173m in debt, with €730m of that sum due in the short term while €266m is owed […]

          Uh oh!

Not selling Messi and losing him for free is going to be the nail in the coffin.

Can someone help a American sports fan understand the fuss over a newspaper "leaking" Messi's contract details?

Lionel Messi and Barcelona will take legal action after a Spanish newspaper released the full details of the forward's record-breaking contract.

I gather the team is not in good position financially, but Messi is really pissed about this and wanting to sue.
I don't know much about Spanish law, does he have a case? Are player salaries in Spain normally secret?

This is part of an ongoing saga and it basically boils down to the fact that Barcelona’s management has been an absolute ****show for years now.

They are in financial trouble, and Messi has a huge contract. They try to frame Messi having a huge contract as this burden on the club - despite a laundry list of other compete and utter ****ups that have contributed to the situation. They’re still bringing in crazy amounts of money despite the pandemic and can’t manage to bring the finances under control because they’ve made a lot of bad decisions that have nothing to do with Messi. It’s all about trying to save face.

As for the legal stuff, I have no idea whether that’s Spanish law or if there was a confidentiality clause in his specific contract.

Catching up on the Milan Derby this afternoon. Still in the second half but wow, two great goals from Lautaro after an insane start to the second half by Milan where it seemed certain they’d score.

Thirty minutes to go and I’m guessing there’s more! (avoided the result yesterday)

Damn. Great run and goal by Lukaku to go with his great assist in the first half. Not the Lukaku I remember.

Tbf Lukaku has always been this good, he just didn’t fit the system at United.

I don’t know any United fans that hold any ill-will towards him, most of them aren’t surprised he’s doing this well at Inter.

The pass for Lautaro caught me most by surprise, I guess. Well, that and the insanely awful marking.

Fun game—I need to watch more Serie A (I fell myself this annually).

It was a good game. Milan had 3 great chances to equalize after HT. 2 point blank Ibra headers saved by Handonovic and that parried shot by Tonelli could have turned altered the game.

Inter's like 1 or 2 pieces away from being a top European side. Still can't believe they flamed out of the UCL but Conte has some serious pieces to work with.

The opening few minutes of the second half was insane. An equalizer felt imminent, so I was shocked Inter finished with a clean sheet.

On a different note, I think Inter had the best home kit in the world last season, and this season they're right up there again.

Inter kits are always pretty great tbh, they just have a good combination of colors and a slick base design.

Almost always one of my favorites.
