Good news for Canada and all the CONCACAF countries. FIFA had the intercontinental draw today and the fourth place team will play the winner of the Oceania group which is usually New Zealand. Could have drawn the fifth place South American finisher so I'll take New Zealand please and thank you.

Only nine minutes in and Napoli are doing their thing against Lazio, already 2-0, hot damn.

Aaaaand Mertens make it 3-0 with his second.

Napoli’s dream of a scudetto gains momentum.

Juventus down in 7th and the top three only separated by four points—should be a heck of a title race in Italy this season. Just feels like nobody will pull away early.

I guess this is where we talk about the Balloon of Ore.

The text storm I got from the Bayern guy at work after Messi was announced was impressive.

If someone told me club was falsifying financial information and engaging in money laundering, they'd be near the top of the 'least surprised to hear that' list.

The Friday Bundesliga match between Union and Leipzig was already entertaining and now the beautiful snow is falling.

2-1 to Union as I typed that! A bit of luck, but Leipzig’s goal also had some of that.

Union have had an insane amount of chances to make it 3-1. Incredible game, especially in the late stages.

First time Leipzig have lost a Friday night match, and the first time they’ve lost three in a row in the Bundesliga. Damn.

Other than the game against Bayern, this is the worst Leipzig has looked all year.

Ever since Leipzig lost Werner, their offense has been inconsistent as ****. They were able to by and large paper over it last year because Nagelsmann is a genius and the D was ironclad. After getting raided in the offseason, Marsch has not quite found a squad that has clicked consistently. Hopefully they can find some consistency in the second half and find a way into Europe.

Sad to hear about Aguero's retirement due to health reasons. He was such a great player for Man City. I'm sure some people don't like him but you never want to see a player retire early due to health issues.

New guidelines for the AFCON 2021 state that all countries must play even if they only have 11 players available. Even more ridiculous, they still play if there is no goalkeeper amongst that 11 players. Any nation unable to fulfil a fixture will forfeit the game 2-0.

If you have Paramount + give the Roma-Juve match from this past weekend. Just a crazy entertaining match which unfortunately saw Chiesa go down with an ACL.

Comoros, a country I've legit never heard of until earlier this week when they beat a pretty decent Ghana squad beats another good side in Algeria at AFCON WITH an outfield player in goal because their keeper has COVID.

Just looked them up on Wikipedia.

They didn't even make it out of the first Round of CAF World Cup Qualifying. They were knocked out way back in September 2019. They have come a long way as a nation since then!
