More news about the players who survived.

Follman, the goalkeeper who had on leg amputated, won't have to lose the other leg, as initially was tought.

Neto, the defender, had a surgery on his leg and the great news is that the doctors said he will be able to play again.

I don't have much information about Alan, but i think he is stable.

Palmeiras, who became Brazilian champions last week, were granted permission by CBF to play the last game of the season with Chapecoense's uniform (Palmeiras, like Chape, is a Green/White team, and they were the last club Chapecoense faced).

People here in Rio are organizing a homage to Chape, symbolically hugging Maracana stadium, with everyone wearing green.

As requested by the other teams, and accepted by CBF, Chapecoense will be immune to relegation for the next 3 seasons, so they can rebuild faster.

It was said that argentinian star player Riquelme (Boca Juniors, Villarreal) offered to play for Chapecoense for 6 months. People are asking for Ronaldinho to do the same.

Feels like Real Madrid actually have a legit shot of winning the league, shockingly.

If there is one tournament in the world that desperately needs to be revamped it's the Club World Cup. That thing is an abomination.

Maybe they need to take two teams from each region instead of one. Maybe it would get more interest if you have two Europeans teams potentially facing each other or two South American teams. Anything is better than the final which will be Real Madrid against something called the Kashima Antlers.

No need to add teams just to shut the smaller teams out even more. Plus the CL winner/runner up will not sign up for an even longer distraction from their season. They already agree to play 2 games (European and SA teams go straight to the semis). Good luck telling them that they have to go for even longer.

I actually think it's really cool that the Antlers made it all the way from the first round. Those guys get to play Real Madrid now - it'll be a highlight for their careers.

For what the tournament is, it's fine. I'd rather see it scrapped than made bigger.

Ah those poor European teams might have to play three games rather than two. Boo hoo. They would just be placed right into the quarterfinals rather than the semifinals.

Simple solutions: Cut back on your pre-season games, move the tournament to August.
We're talking about a 48 World Cup tournament but we can't increase the Club World Championship to two teams per continent? Give me a break.

It's great for the Antlers but it won't be the spectacle that it should be.

The tournament in its current format sucks. I think most people would agree with that. Rather than scrap it come up with a better tournament.

I don't want to see it expand because it's nothing more than a money grab that is already completely out of place. We already have enough competitions and the top players already play too much between club and country as it is. Not everything has to be a huge spectacle for TV. This is just the clubs that won their continent getting together plus a host. We don't need a large FIFA-run club tournament.

Club World Cup is a crap idea that has gone on for far too long.

                      40 matches unbeaten for Zidane.

Too bad he's a terrible manager.

Juventus unveil their new minimalist logo and, well, it sucks.

That's the most Italian fashion looking thing I've ever seen. It's like they consulted Armani on their new logo.

As a designer who has embraced minimalism and "as little design as possible" throughout my career who is also a football fan that loves the tradition and elegance of classic crests...I'm incredibly disappointed.

I don't think it's bad per se. It just reminds me of the Goodwill logo.

It's bad for a the identity of a club with the history and prestige they do.

It's all about context. In the context of the sport and that club, it does not fit.
