    Charity Shield good
    League Cup great
    Congested winter fixtures awesome
All star game to generate $ for lower leagues … bad

at least among the posters here, i don't know that any of these are popular. I know I always complain about the League Cup, I'm on record saying I won't care about it til it's the final, no one likes the congested winter fixtures. In fact I think the winter congestion being bad is the thing nearly everyone in the world agrees on.

They could do it the same weekend as the Community Shield actually. Have some kind of vote at the end of the prior season. Then replace players who transfer out or are in the Shield. Maybe pick one team and play against someone looking to play a friendly? I dunno, the cause is good for sure like KG says.

I also agree it would have to be optional, but the players who do play should be paid a bit as incentive to show up.

There would also need to be a skills competition. I’d actually watch that.

Yeah the skills challenge alone would have me sold.

Richarlison has already ruled himself out of the keepy uppy contest. His shins are still throbbing from been taken out by Brennan Johnson.

The complete meltdown in England over a VERY casual throwaway comment that Boehly was ASKED about is absolutely hilarious lmao.

Got Cara out here trying to make a link from this random comment to the Super League, which Boehly has already publicly denounced.

              What a ****show ahahaha.

I honestly can't even believe it's still in the news cycle. They seem more mad about this than Newcastle's new owners! Queen finally kicks and I'm stuck with the drivel of remembering her and people being up in arms about a SUGGESTION. PLEASE GOD TALK ABOUT SOMETHING INTERESTING. Hopefully a real game week will finally move the conversation on.

I had written a few paragraphs about why it makes sense to discuss and have a mini freakout about, but **** it, The Todd doesn't deserve the words.

There’s nothing to freak out about though, he was asked a question lol. People are acting like he showed up with a PowerPoint presentation.

It really doesn’t make any sense to discuss this in any length right now with how much other stuff is going on.

The thing is, there's always so much other stuff going on. How dare any of us even discuss actual football considering who owns Newcastle. How can we possibly talk about anything else?

The Todd's comments may have been prompted by a reporter but that doesn't reduce possibility of the further introduction of policies and initiatives that fundamentally change how the league operates.

It's always piece by piece, and that was the issue with the Super League. The idiots tried to do it once to punish UEFA, but it was never going to work. Year by year slowly change how the league operates and push it more towards franchise models? That's how it's done.

I know, I know, but The Todd didn't say anything of the sort, but it's there underpinning everything and we all know it. I personally ****ing loathe how all American sports leagues operate which is why for now nearly two decades I've followed other leagues from around the world.

The slightest hint of American sports exceptionalism thinking makes me vomit, and I don't care what anyone says or how The Todd's comments were prompted—that's what he's bringing to the league, make no mistake about it (and he's not introducing it—he's joining it).

Of course there's far other things within the league or game to discuss, but throwaway side comments are often used to test the water and can often show how someone truly views something.

Although, I already mostly hate the Premier League, so maybe I shouldn't really care, but that's my "freak out" that isn't really a freak out, just a refusal to brush aside throwaway comments and avoid the entire concept of nuance.

For the record, you can guarantee if The Todd owned Chelsea in April of 2021, he would've been listed as one of the vice-chairmen of 'The Super League' along with Stan Kroenke, Joel Glazer, and John Henry. It doesn't matter what his comments on it are now—he would've been on board to begin with. That's why his comments, however mundane and prompted have struck a chord with so many.

There, I, by myself, discussed it in length—shame.

Did they bury the queen yet? **** me.

I'll be surprised if Brendan Rodgers is still there after the International break.

Leicester single handedly resuscitated Son's season.

History about to be made, Arsenal bringing on 15 year old Ethan Nwaneri.
