I want to be very clear, I am rooting for the downfall of Chelsea, but it does seem like they should sack the entire physio team before they consider sacking Potter.

There are legitimately so many things that aren't his fault atm, it would be nuts to not give him at least another season to see how things go after a full summer/preseason etc.

I say this in defense of Potter: while Arteta was certainly inexperienced, he also suffered from having an absolutely **** squad who had many influential individuals who were not prepared to do things his way.

Chelsea haven't seemed to have much of a, erm, strategy when it comes to transfers and for anyone to expect him to drop into that dressing room and just make it work without making big squad changes is living on another planet.

I think there are very much similarities—if Potter is truly going to be the start of something new, and long-term, that squad is going to need some serious attention. If Arteta wasn't backed in terms of removing those he wanted to, he would've been sacked or we'd still be fighting for eighth at best.

I think with Potter's past, he has proven he can make this work, but I'm very, very prepared to continue to laugh if he's not given the chance or support.

Yeah, entire point of getting Potter was to build something, id imagine he wouldn't have even been on the list of managers to bring in just to get results.

It would be sheer incompetence to not back him for at least a few seasons.

At the same time, I hope he at least has some kind of input on all these players we are trying to buy, because just buying a million players with no real plan isn't gonna help him either.

There seems to be a tiny hope for that now that Big T O Double D stepped down from sporting/technical director, although I’m not sure if someone actually replaced him and I doubt his ability to be hands off on transfers.

Boehly already said that Potter will be given time. It’s just certain sections of our spoiled fan base that are still living in the Roman era where we acted impulsively.

How is that a goal? Rashford in an offside position def makes a play on the ball.

I explained the whole thing to my wife and she as a non-watching ultra neutral doesn’t understand how it can be allowed. The offside player created the entire goal scoring opportunity.

But City’s defense is utter ****, especially on the second goal.

Don't like that call. I get that he didn't touch the ball, but he is still influencing the goalkeeper and the defenders by being in an offside position.

Yeah when I saw Akanji-Ake I said to myself…yeah United is getting something out of it.

Did it even go to VAR?

Like he literally ran onto the pass and then Bruno took it off him.

Also, your boy Saka is so clear of Foden.

And yeah…that’s a red card worthy challenge by Casameiro

Cancelo has gone from arguably the best full back in PL last few years to being bang average this year. Shocking defending. I think a few of you guys were just talking about him the other day.

The year I played in the Fantasy League he was sensational. What a drop off he's had.

I still can't believe that non-offside call. I mean, I can (Old Trafford) but the best way I've read to describe the absurdity is to watch the replay and imagine that Rashford isn't there—that's he's invisible. You'd be wondering what the hell every City player was doing.

But, Old Trafford (cough Martinelli's disallowed goal cough).
