Lol, I sensed that Liverpool's hopes and dreams were on the up after that Man City result, but I'm glad to see reality came knocking.

Re: 2022-23 English Football Thread
The league is just ridiculously strong from 1-20 in terms of talent. A bad day in the office and anyone can lose to anyone in the league… home or away.
Liverpool just look gassed to me. no legs in midfield which exposes their back 4, especially with the fullbacks pushing high.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs. All a complete mess right now.

Years past I would think about catching a match but then think whats the point when the top teams are almost guaranteed to win 80% of the time. But Nottingham drawing with Chelsea and Brentford beating Liverpool? Sign me up!Comment

Re: 2022-23 English Football Thread
That was one of the most entertaining 0-0 matches I've seen in a while. Thought Eddie Nketiah had won it late on but for a huge Pope save. Too bad referee Andy Madley was handing out yellows like Christmas cards in the first half. Ridiculous, not every foul warranted a card. Farcical at times.
Erling Haaland aside, I think Newcastle getting Nick Pope has been up there as signing of the season. 10 Clean sheets in 18 matches played. Only 11 goals conceded. I will say however, he did not leave his time wasting trait behind at Burnley football club. He has got to be up there as one of the worst time wasters there are in the league. From the first whistle he's at it.Comment

Jeez 20 minutes in and don't think it could be worse for Chelsea. Both Sterling and Pulisic out

Brilliant ball from Grealish. Why did Kepa leave it?

They're not a club use to claiming moral victories but I thought Chelsea gave a good account of themselves today.
Potter is going to go home and check under his couch cushions for a striker.Comment
