Brighton have done so well so far in this game to be level at half time against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. They seem to be improving with every game.

I'd write more about how the FA admitted to being biased with Arteta's charge (and how in reality they're admitting to bias against other managers and teams, not just him) but there's no point.

Ah yes Klopp, who famously gets away with his treatment of referees and never gets touchline bans.

It was meant as a response to:

To say Arteta's touchline behavior goes 'way above and beyond' what Klopp has exhibited is absurd. The point wasn't to say others are not punished (if anything, only 'high-profile' managers are, as the FA has put it) but to point out that Arteta is far from alone in his touchline behavior.

United’s midfield without Bruno looks so much more balanced. Up top it’s still 2 bee stings but at least they’re not leaking goals

Thinking back on it…that Dalot sending off was just ridiculous.

The foul wasn’t even YC worthy but to get 2 yellows for dissent in a game like that is a joke.

If referees want respect than they need to earn it by making the right call(s).

Oliver is the same referee who gave Martinelli two yellows in the span of less ten seconds during the same phase of play for two nothing fouls.

Obviously it's not the same as dissent, but it's still ludicrous to give a player two yellows so quickly for what is essentially all the same 'moment' or phase of play whether it's two quick fouls or two things shouted at you with a breath between them.

Honestly, if the report on Arteta's charge and hearing was being more publicly discussed outside of the red herring of the English/Spanish, I think there would much more heat on officiating right now. The FA admitted to bias regarding charging 'high-profile' managers, and it's seemingly now precedent that managers can openly criticize VAR and its use at will due to the FA and PGMOL openly and public admitting how awful they are at using it.

Honestly for me it’s hard, because it’s so harsh and ridiculous but at the same time players hurl absolutely vile abuse towards every ref in every game with zero remorse and whatsoever

Reports should be made public. One of the biggest issues is transparency. VAR audio should be heard live*, and all referee match reports made public.

What did a player say to a referee? What did the referees warn a player about? The amount they keep hidden is ridiculous and does the opposite of protect them.

*Hearing a referee and TMO discussing incidents live in rugby is fantastic.

                        100% agree.

Would also go a long way towards getting more high quality refs since more people would be willing to ref if the abuse wasn’t as bad

Cooper officially sacked at Forest. Nuno seems to be the replacement.

Still annoyed at that match from Sunday. Of course that's what happens when I have 6 people over to watch the game and brunch. At least there was alcohol...

Newcastle out. Probably their best chance at a trophy this season goes poof.

Bruno G is one of the dirtiest players we’ve had in the league in a while tbh.

When he came in I mentioned it early, how every game he gets away with chopping players down with no punishment while pundits and commentators talk about how great his physicality is, etc.

I think it was you who (or KG) who said they hadn't noticed it but they hadn't seen many of his matches, but I knew it would only be a matter of time before it was clear to many. (It wasn't that I was special, I just for some stupid reason had watched many Newcastle games in the second half of that season.)

I also think he's getting worse, and it's because he gets away with it again and again, so of course he'll keep doing it and having it brushed off as 'Oh that's a bit naughty' or whatever other infantilizing language gets tossed around playfully.
