Its not a typical O'Neill signing though he said he wants some experience but I think it was to add depth I don't think he will beat out luke young or be relied upon to start every week. they are still very thin at CB. would like to see them sign someone maybe Wheater from boro which was rumored a while ago.

Now as to CB, they need someone. I have faith in Cullar but not much else back there. I know that Villa has been linked to Wheater and Distin, and either of those would be great cover for CB's. Really wish we could snag Hangeland or Mathew Upson, but those are well out of Villa's reach, IMO.
Oh, and I still maintain that I'd give my left and right nut for Wesley Sniejder @ Villa. That, along with Milner, Petrov, Young and Downing would just complete the midfield.Too Old To Game Club

True, but they still have Dida. Storari and now Roma. And when Abbiati comes back from injury, that will be four deep. Before the injury, Abbs was playing some of the best goalkeep in Europe.Comment

Only great if they actually spend that money on some depth. You don't want a repeat performance of last year when half of their attackers got hurt.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Everton have already used around £10million of their Lescott monies to acquire Lokomotiv Moskva winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov. The link also claims Valencia's Ever Banega is close to completing a season long loan move to Goodison.
Manchester City have signed free agent fullback and two-time Champions League winner Sylvinho.
Fulham signed Damien Duff earlier in the week from Newcastle (made his club debut against Chelsea on the weekend) for about £4million I believe and have more recently agreed a loan deal for West Brom's Jonathon Greening.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Free agent defender Sol Campbell has signed a five-year contract (he's 34...) with League Two side Notts County! For those who haven't followed, Notts County were taken over by a Middle East consortium who hired Sven-Goran Eriksson as their Director of Football or something (not as a manager) and they have a 5-year plan to get into the EPL. They are currently leading League Two after 4 matches...Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Fiorentina have signed RB Lorenzo Di Silvestre from league rivals Lazio for a reported €6m fee. Heard he was linked with AC Milan (according to Press Pass) so a bit of a coup there if there was any truth to that, but i've never seen him play so can't comment any further on if its worth it.Comment
