Re: The Transfer Thread
One thing's for sure, Arsenal is the scorned ex-girlfriend of the EPL. I'd feel bad, but your fans are too plenty and talk too much. Not necessarily on here, but all over the net and people I encounter.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I'm not mad at all at Cesc. He clearly wanted to go back and we didn't want him. If anything, I'm disappointed in Wenger because injuries seem to be prevalent at the club for its midfield. Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, all missed big parts of last season with injuries and we couldn't compete in the end. Look - I'm not sure what's happening, but it seems like AGAIN, we're the only team that doesn't want to spend money.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I'm a little mad at him in an irrational way because he wasn't "loyal" which today doesn't really exist. But for the most part, my scorn is directly at the club.
Anyone who says we don't need him need to take on the view of Chelsea. Do they need him? Not really. Will he make them better? Absolutely.
We could've added depth in an area that we have depth but not youthful depth, and we could've not strengthened a team that we've shown we can not beat.
Something I saw earlier really said it best to me, which is that Cesc would've been the best player we'd sign this Summer. To me, that is true. We'll make signings, but would they be as good of a player? No.
Also, a giant **** you to Barcelona. Thanks for prying away our captain, when you clearly did not require his services, only so you could sell him years later.
Also, Arsene is apparently waiting until after the WC to make signings. Can't wait.Comment

As for Barcelona, they bought him as Xavi's successor when they clearly weren't ready to slowly diminish his role. Who's the long-term guy for them now?Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
No one, yet. I was hoping that's what Thiago would mold into, but he wanted to follow Pep. Xavi has one more season, I think. Then he'll head to the MLS, maybe even in the January window. I could see them going after a guy like Koke to fill that gap, if not this summer, maybe January or next summer. With the potential transfer ban, they kinda need to figure that out now. There's also a chance that Rafinha, Thiago's brother who is following Luis Enrique back to Barca off of his loan, could become that in the long run, especially if he can shadow Xavi for the next bit. But he's more raw than they really want right now.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Re: The Transfer Thread
Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen agrees deal to join Manchester United this summer
Telegraph is usually reliable, but I'm not sure about the journo. I'm not opposed considering the price. Experienced in the EPL and will give Jones/Smalling/Evans good competition.
As for Arsenal...

Of course, he is our captain, which means he's most certainly leaving.
We should've made Bendtner our captain years ago.
Also, this means we'd now need to bring in two CBs. Unless Arsene is finally giving Miquel a spot.Comment
