David Ornstein is reporting Arsenal are close to signing Calum Chambers from Southampton, fee in the region of £12 million. Apparently, a fee has been agreed to and a medical took place yesterday.

Also rumored that Arsenal offered Jenkinson and Gnarby on loan as part of the deal. Good guy, Arsene.

Chambers would apparently give us RB and CB cover. But damn, I feel terrible for Southampton, even though they're being paid well for the deals that are happening.

I wonder if they are making these deals knowing that they have the talent coming up over the next few years to cover their losses or do they plan to rebuild through the money they are receiving. At one point, I was confident they could recover but I don't know anymore.

That would be a dangerous game to play when you want to stay in the EPL. Their academy has been fantastic, but you can't just expect 5-7 players who've never really had top-flight experience to keep them up. Even then, buying so many players won't immediately translate into results.

Well, the dismantling of Southampton continues, as Chambers has officially joined Arsenal.

Looks like the deal is nearing the range of £16m. Damn, Arsene. Keep spending, bud.

                    Re: The Transfer Thread

So, Schneiderlin and Rodriguez could both be on their way out of Southampton to Spurs.

This is just getting ridiculous. The Saints finished 8th last season, and as it stands now they'll be fighting their way up from the bottom all of next season.

Summer exodus of talent from Southampton set to continue with Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez close to move to Tottenham

Ronaldinho and Atletico Mineiro parted ways by mutual concent, meaning Ronaldinho is now a free agent.

I hope he goes to Orlando City, seeing him dominate the MLS with Kaka and Robinho would be an amazing sight to see.

I just want to be able to watch his matches on TV. I hope he isn't headed to Boca Juniors, which is one rumored destination out there.

And the Southhampton mess is just getting worse. FO does not want them to go and said they are not releasing the two players to Spurs. Then Schneiderlin requests a transfer (according to Sky sports)

Tom Carroll set to be loaned to Derby County this season.
