Re: The Transfer Thread
You knew someone would overpay for James Rodriguez. And it appears that it's Real Madrid.
The Colombian starlet looks set to end his stint in Monte Carlo by moving to the European champions in a mega-money deal
Take it with a grain of salt at this point though. Not many reputable sources are reporting it yet.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-17-2014, 10:34 AM.Comment

No explanation for Kroos.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Absolutely mind boggling that Madrid got him for so cheap. Hopefully they use him in an advanced role to get the most out of him. Kroos was great until he was forced to drop deep in the World Cup Final. I got a feeling they are gonna try to partner him with Luka Modric to let James Rodriquez play in the 10 hole. Absolute mistake IMHO."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

Re: The Transfer Thread
Kroos is relatively cheap because he had a year left on his contract and he had no plans to sign an extension. Rather than lose him for nothing, Bayern sold him. This is similar to the RVP situation in that Wenger sold him rather than lose him for free
It is a fantastic signing for Madrid though. Kroos at 24-years-old is already very good and will further improve the Madrid midfield. If he's not already a world class player, he will be very soon.
I've always been a fan of his and no doubt I'll be getting his jerseyComment

Ah, I didn't think about the contract situation. I bet they could have held out for more though.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Massive gamble by WBA in spending £10m on one player. Never even heard of him. Such a risk for a club who don't usually have much of a transfer kitty.
