Not really sold on Costa yet, but then again I'm a Chelsea fan and he's a striker. I am extremely happy about the Felipe move though, him on the left and Dave on the right will be pretty exciting and should help open up some space in the attack.

Last year and the year before, AM belongs in that group with Barca and RM in La Liga, certainly more than they belong in a group with any of the others. Let's not act like Diego Costa was putting up all of these goals at Real Betis.
I wasn't saying AM is a crap team. Also, you are mostly just reinforcing my point that Costa is likely not a fluke. When was the last time AM produced a striker that sucked? Costa scored 20 goals the previous season for AM while playing out of position, and 10 goals in 16 games on loan to Rayo the season before that, also while playing out of position. The first time he gets the chance to play up top alone he bags 36 goals, that's quite a lot of goals.

Look I'm a Chelsea fan, I'm very realistic when it comes to strikers, we don't have a good track record. But damn people need to just let us be excited about our new toy. Hell Sturridge had one good season also and people are hailing him as the best striker in England, and Costa didn't have the pleasure of being teammates with the third best player on the planet.

I'm well aware that Costa could flop hard, and also that everybody hates my team and wants nothing more than to see us flop ourselves, Chelsea fans like it that way. As I said though, just let us have our new toy, I'm sure we will hear plenty of respectful and level headed discussions about Costa as soon as he misses the target a few times.

I am just curious as to what position they were playing Costa in when you said he was being played out of position? I couldn't really imagine him being effective in any role but striker.

I'm excited for Costa. He's not flashy and I like it that way, Jose does too. He brings toughness and grit to Chelsea. On paper, it seems that he is a perfect match and the striker Chelsea missed last year. A pure finisher.

It's looking like Ba is off Besiktas. Curious what other striker Mourinho can reel in.

He's mostly been played as a winger up until last season. They called him the second striker when he played with Falcao, but the way they had him playing was largely that of a wide forward, similar to David Villa last season.

I'd be fine with Costa, Lukaku and Torres honestly

I'm thinking Chelsea's strikers will be Costa, Drogba (it's inevitable), and Torres.

I don't see Lukaku staying anymore. I used to say he would stay but its time to face reality. He's as good as gone. Especially with lackluster WC performances. His attitude of everything being handed to him will show him the door.

Oh god Drogba returning as a player would make me very sad. He's done here as a player, there is nothing left for him, you don't come back after that kind of sending off. Scores the equalizer to send CL final to penalties in his last game for the club, and with literally his last touch of the ball in a Chelsea shirt he gave us our greatest trophy. The perfect send off, like something out of a movie. Drogba left the club as an untouchable hero.

Of course if the club was ******** enough to bring him back as a player he would have my full support, but omg please no.

Whats the problem with the idea of him coming back. yeah ok he has lost a few steps and your fans have already said goodbye, but he is a legend, why would you not want him back to finish his career. I doubt the expectations for him will be high but its not like he will block the progress of anyone on the team. If anything you guys get a big morale boost for the fans anytime he steps on the pitch.

I don't know whats with most sports fans and the legends on their teams. They always feel that once they are off the reservation, they are are gone forever.

Is it just me, or is £20 million surprising to anyone else? That seems pretty damn low.

Also, I still can't believe Bayern just sold a young, talented German player. What is happening?!
